What type of alternator is this dc-dc charger compatible with?
This charger is compatible with both conventional and smart alternators. conventional alternators provide a steady voltage, while smart alternators vary their output. for smart alternators, you must connect the charger using the ign (acc) cable to the vehicle ignition port so the charger can operate correctly.
What types of battery does this charger support?
This charger supports 12v lithium, agm, gel, and calcium batteries. it is designed to bring batteries to a full 100% charge and can even help recover lithium batteries that have been discharged to low voltage.
How do i set the battery type if there is no display screen?
Press and hold the select button on the side of the charger. the led lights for each battery type will illuminate in sequence to show the available options. release the button when the led for your desired battery type is lit.
If both solar power and the engine are available, can i prioritize solar charging?
Yes. the charger defaults to dc (alternator) charging, but you can prioritize solar charging by pressing the select button on the side of the unit to switch to solar.
Can solar charging and dc charging switch automatically?
Yes. the charger will automatically switch between solar and dc based on input voltage conditions. when the engine is running, it will switch from dc to solar if the dc input voltage is below 11.3v and the solar input is above 13v. when the engine is off, it will switch to solar if dc input voltage is below 12.7v and solar input is above 13v.
