The Phoenix Domes Hybrid Glass Skylight Upgrade replaces the standard PVC skylight panel on your dome with a premium double pane, Low-E, argon-filled tempered glass unit set in a precision-welded aluminum frame. The result is dramatically better thermal performance, a much longer lifespan, and virtually zero maintenance compared to a standard PVC skylight.

The glass unit uses a 5+9+5mm construction — two panes of tempered glass separated by a 9mm argon-filled cavity — with a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of 0.3, meaning it blocks 70% of solar heat while still letting in natural light. This upgrade significantly reduces heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter, making your dome more comfortable year-round and easier to heat and cool.

The precision-welded aluminum frame is designed to integrate directly with Phoenix Domes geodesic frames. This upgrade can be specified at the time of ordering a new dome or retrofitted to an existing dome. Available in sizes from 5M through 10M to match your dome size.
