MotoTec 36v 300w (HP122E) Electric Dirt Bike - Recreational Off-Road Use Only

The MotoTec HP122E is the gentlest bike in MotoTec's electric dirt bike line, built for a first-time rider learning throttle control on a driveway or in a backyard. A 300 watt motor drives the rear wheel by chain, and a half twist throttle keeps the power delivery manageable. MotoTec lists it for riders 13 and up, with a generous 175 lb weight limit for its size.

Rather than a continuously variable dial, the HP122E steps through three fixed speeds at the push of a button: 5, 7.5 and 15.5 mph. That makes progression simple to supervise, since each step is a known quantity instead of a guess at where a knob is set. A single hydraulic spring shock at the rear takes the edge off bumps, while the 12 inch wheels at both ends keep the bike low and easy to put a foot down on.

The 36 volt 4 amp-hour lithium battery is UL 2489 certified, runs about 45 minutes and refills in roughly 4 hours. Braking is handled by a rear drum, and the steel frame keeps the whole bike to 39 lbs, which matters when a new rider needs to pick it up or wheel it back to the garage. A 20 inch seat height and 8 inches of ground clearance make it approachable for shorter riders.
