The Hooligan 60cc is MotoTec's step up from the smallest mini bikes: a 60cc air-cooled four-stroke single making 2.41 hp at 6,000 rpm, with a push-button electric start running off a 12v 4ah battery. There is no kick cord to wrestle with and no gears to shift - the automatic centrifugal clutch handles engagement, so the rider twists the throttle and goes. That combination makes it a realistic bike for a teenager who has outgrown a 40cc but is not ready for a manual gearbox.

The chassis is built around a steel frame with an inverted front fork and a rear mono shock, disc brakes front and rear, and 2.50-10 knobby tires on both ends. A 36-inch wheelbase and 5 inches of ground clearance give it the footprint to stay planted on fire road and track, and the 24-inch seat height suits a taller rider than the entry models. At 97 lbs dry it has enough mass to feel like a real motorcycle rather than a toy, and the frame is rated to carry up to 200 lbs.

Mechanically it is specified for durability rather than outright speed. The 9.0:1 single runs an A7TC plug and takes 22 fl-oz of oil, 15W/40 in summer and 10W/30 in winter, and the 2.15-liter tank covers 10-plus miles of hard riding per fill. Top speed is 25 mph. MotoTec builds it with upgraded wheel bearings, longer-wearing high-grip tires and better suspension components than a generic mini bike, which is what keeps the maintenance load down over a season.

Normal wear items such as tires, tubes, brake pads, chains and batteries are not covered, and neither is damage from racing, jumping, collisions, improper assembly, modification, or riding beyond the rated limits.

How is the hooligan 60cc different from a 40cc mini bike?
It is bigger in every direction: 2.41 hp instead of 1.9, a 25 mph top speed, a 24-inch seat, a 36-inch wheelbase and a 200 lb rider rating, plus electric start rather than a pull cord.
What age is it recommended for?
Mototec lists 13 and up. adult supervision is expected, and a new rider should have open space and full protective gear before opening the throttle.
Do i need to mix oil into the gas?
No. it is a four-stroke, so it runs on straight unleaded gasoline. engine oil goes in the crankcase separately - 22 fl-oz of 15w/40-sf in summer or 10w/30-sf in winter.
How far will it go on a tank?
The 2.15-liter tank is good for 10 or more miles of riding depending on terrain and how hard it is ridden.
Does it need assembly?
Yes. it arrives partially assembled and an adult should complete and inspect the build before the first ride.
Can it be ridden on the street?
No. it is an off-road recreational machine only and is not legal or registrable for public roads.
