The MotoTec Supermoto (DB02) takes the 50cc two-stroke mini bike formula in a different direction from the knobby-tired dirt bikes in the range. Instead of tall off-road wheels, it runs fat low-profile 6.5-inch supermoto rubber - 90/65-6.5 up front and 110/50-6.5 at the rear - which puts far more contact patch on hard ground. The result is a bike built for pavement-style riding on closed courses, go-kart tracks and packed dirt rather than rough trail.

The layout is deliberately simple. A rigid frame with no suspension keeps weight down to 37 lbs dry, a pull cord starts the engine, and the automatic centrifugal clutch means there is nothing to shift. Stopping is handled by a single rear disc brake. The riding position sits low, with a 21-inch seat height that lets a smaller rider get both feet down easily, and the whole machine measures just 38 x 22 x 27 inches.

The 50cc air-cooled two-stroke is EPA approved and runs on a 25:1 premix, feeding from a 1-liter tank for 10-plus miles of riding. Top speed is 25 mph. Because the frame is rigid and the only brake is at the rear, this is a machine for smooth, predictable surfaces with an adult watching - not for jumps, ruts or rocky trail.

Normal wear items such as tires, tubes, brake pads, chains and batteries are not covered, and neither is damage from racing, jumping, collisions, improper assembly, modification, or riding beyond the rated limits.

How is a supermoto different from a regular dirt bike?
It uses wide, low-profile street-style tires on small 6.5-inch wheels instead of tall knobby off-road tires. that gives it more grip on hard, smooth surfaces like closed courses and packed dirt, but it is not intended for rough trail.
Does it have suspension?
No. the frame is rigid, so bumps come straight through to the rider. keep it on even surfaces and avoid jumps or rutted ground.
How do i fuel it?
Mix unleaded gasoline with two-stroke oil at a 25:1 ratio before filling the 1-liter tank. never run straight gasoline in a two-stroke.
What age and rider size is it for?
Mototec recommends 13 and up. the 21-inch seat and light 37 lb weight suit smaller riders, and an adult should supervise every ride.
Does it have a front brake?
No. braking is rear disc only, so riders need to allow more stopping distance and get comfortable with the bike at low speed first.
Is it street legal?
No. this is an off-road recreational machine only and cannot be registered or ridden on public roads.
