Product Description

The MotoTec Urchin is a 49cc two-stroke minibike built for first-time riders. The air-cooled, EPA-approved engine runs through a centrifugal clutch and chain, which leaves a single control to learn: the throttle. There is no clutch lever and nothing to shift.

Large 11-inch air-filled knobby tires (110/50-6.5) are what separate the Urchin from street-tire minibikes. They roll over grass, gravel and rutted trail instead of skipping across it. The steel frame is deliberately overbuilt for the bike's 44 lb weight, a rear disc handles braking, and 5 inches of ground clearance keeps the underside clear of obstacles.

Top speed is 20 mph, and the 1.5-liter tank, filled with unleaded and two-stroke oil at 32:1, covers about 23 miles, the longest listed range among MotoTec's small minibikes. Seat height is a low 20 inches and the weight limit is 170 lbs, so the Urchin fits a wide span of younger riders without being outgrown in a season.
