The AKEZ S2 is a 20-inch fat tire electric bike built for riders who want to leave the pavement behind. Its 750W brushless rear hub motor reaches a listed 28 mph and climbs grades of up to 30 degrees, and the 20 x 4.0 inch tires give it the footprint to stay composed on rough mountain tracks, beach sand, loose gravel and packed snow. Wide tires also cut noise and vibration, which is the difference between an hour on a trail being fun and being tiring.

Battery capacity is a choice rather than a fixed figure. The single-pack S2 runs one 48V 13Ah lithium-ion battery, rated at 35 to 45 miles in pedal-assist mode and 32 or more miles on motor power alone. The dual-pack version doubles capacity to 48V 26Ah and is quoted at 70 to 90 miles. Both packs are removable and recharge in roughly four to five hours, on or off the bike.

The S2 uses full suspension, with an aluminium alloy fork at the front and a spring shock at the rear. The point is traction as much as comfort: keeping both tires loaded over bumps means the bike tracks where it is pointed instead of skipping off line. Mechanical disc brakes at both wheels handle stopping, and the alloy levers include a cutoff that drops motor power as soon as either lever moves.

Riders can run the bike three ways. Powered off, it is a conventional bicycle turning a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain. Powered on, five pedal-assist levels blend motor torque with pedalling and work alongside the mechanical gears to hold a consistent cadence as the ground changes. A half-twist throttle on the right grip delivers motor-only drive. The backlit M5 LCD display shows speed, selected gear, distance covered and remaining battery at a glance.

A high carbon steel frame carries a 330 lb payload rating, and AKEZ suggests the bike for riders between roughly 5 ft 2 in and 6 ft 5 in. The specification includes a circular LED headlight with an integrated electronic horn, a tail light that brightens under braking, an oversized breathable saddle paired with the rear shock, and alloy platform pedals. The S2 is CE certified and arrives about 85 percent assembled.
