AKEZ ZX 20" Fat Tire Electric Bike - Recreational Off-Road Use Only

The AKEZ ZX is a 20-inch fat tire electric bike built around a retro step-over frame and a 750W peak rear hub motor. The silhouette borrows from 1980s motorbikes, but the running gear is modern: an aluminium alloy frame, 20 x 4.0 inch all-terrain tires, and front and rear suspension that lets the bike absorb ruts, roots and washboard gravel instead of passing them straight into the rider's hands.

Power comes from a 48V 13Ah lithium-ion pack that lifts out of the frame, so it can be topped up indoors and away from the bike. The rear hub motor produces 52 Nm of torque and carries the ZX to a top speed of 28 mph, with pedal-assist range quoted at more than 40 miles. Three operating modes cover most situations: twist the throttle for motor-only propulsion, use pedal assist for a blend of leg power and electric help, or switch the system off and ride under your own effort alone.

Rider controls are straightforward. A colour LCD screen reports speed, average and maximum speed, trip and total distance, remaining range, battery level and the current assist stage from 0 to 5, and a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain shifts from a thumb lever on the bar. Ventilated disc brakes front and rear shed heat under repeated hard stops, and a front LED headlight covers low-light riding. An oversized padded saddle and dual-density grips round out a cockpit meant for long days rather than short hops.

The 300 lb payload rating leaves headroom for a rider plus gear, and the complete bike weighs 62 lb. It arrives roughly 85 percent assembled with the tools needed to finish the build.
