Product Description

The MotoTec 48v 1000w Electric Trike, also sold as a personal transporter, is a three-wheeled machine that can be ridden sitting down or standing up. That makes it practical for event staff, security rounds and warehouse floor work as well as general riding, and MotoTec positions it as a far more accessible three-wheel alternative to a Segway.

A 1000 watt brushless hub motor in the front wheel does the driving, fed by a lightweight 48 volt 17.5ah lithium-ion pack. The result is a rated speed of 25 to 28 mph and a range around 20 to 25 miles per charge, with a four to eight hour recharge and a pack rated for more than 300 cycles. Keeping the battery lithium rather than lead-acid holds the whole trike to 95 pounds, light enough to move by hand when it is not running.

The front runs a 16 inch pneumatic tire with a drum brake, and two 12 inch pneumatic tires carry the rear. A removable seat with a backrest sits 23 to 26 inches off the ground, and a twist throttle handles the power. Key ignition, foot pegs, a battery meter, a front LED headlight and a carrying basket all come as standard. The trike climbs grades up to 15 degrees, folds down to a 32 inch height and supports riders up to 240 pounds from age 13 upward.

Normal wear items such as tires, tubes, brake pads, chains and batteries are not covered, and neither is damage from racing, jumping, collisions, improper assembly, modification, or riding beyond the rated limits.
