Product Description

The MotoTec Electric Trike 48v 500w is the entry point into MotoTec's three-wheel personal transporter range. Like the rest of the family it can be ridden sitting down or standing up, which makes it a practical way to cover distance at events, on security rounds or across a warehouse floor - and an easy one to simply enjoy. Think of it as a three-wheel Segway alternative built on far more ordinary hardware.

A 500 watt brushless hub motor sits in the front wheel and pushes the trike to a rated 22 mph. Four 12v 12ah batteries make up the 48v pack, which covers 20 to 25 miles per charge and refills in 4 to 8 hours. The hub-motor layout keeps the drivetrain sealed inside the wheel, so there is no exposed chain to adjust, and the trike handles grades up to 10 degrees.

At 93 lbs this is the lightest of the lead-acid trikes, with a folded height of 31 inches for storage between uses. The 16 inch pneumatic front tire and pair of 9 inch pneumatic rears keep the ride settled, and a front drum brake works off the left handlebar lever. The saddle adjusts from 24 to 28.5 inches and lifts off completely for standing operation. A keyed ignition, battery meter light, front LED headlight and carrying basket are all fitted from the factory.

Normal wear items such as tires, tubes, brake pads, chains and batteries are not covered, and neither is damage from racing, jumping, collisions, improper assembly, modification, or riding beyond the rated limits.
