Product Description

The MotoTec Electric Trike 48v 800w is the mid-range lead-acid model in MotoTec's three-wheel personal transporter line. As with the rest of the family it can be ridden seated or standing, making it a sensible tool for event crews, security patrols and warehouse work as well as straightforward fun - a three-wheel Segway alternative built on ordinary, serviceable hardware.

An 800 watt brushless hub motor drives the front wheel to a rated 22 to 25 mph, fed by four 12v 12ah batteries wired to 48v. Range lands between 15 and 20 miles per charge and the pack refills in 4 to 8 hours across a service life of over 300 charges. Unlike the 500w model, the battery pack here is removable, so it can be carried to a charger rather than moving the whole 95 lb trike.

Braking is the other thing that sets this model apart: twin disc brakes at the rear, operated from a left-hand lever with a parking brake lock, instead of a single front drum. A 16 inch pneumatic front tire and two 12 inch pneumatic rears give a wider footprint than the smaller trikes, 3 inches of ground clearance and a 15 degree climbing ability. Keyed ignition, battery meter light, front LED headlight and a carrying basket are all standard, the saddle is removable, and the handlebar folds to 32 inches for storage.

Normal wear items such as tires, tubes, brake pads, chains and batteries are not covered, and neither is damage from racing, jumping, collisions, improper assembly, modification, or riding beyond the rated limits.
