Product Description

The Mud Monster is MotoTec's full-suspension take on the kids off-road go kart, running a 48-volt system and a 1000-watt permanent magnet brushless motor. Where a flat-ground kart skips and bottoms out, this one soaks up ruts and washboard with dual front hydraulic shocks and a single rear shock, which keeps the tires planted and the driver in control on dirt.

A centrifugal clutch and automatic chain drive mean there is nothing to shift: press the metal throttle pedal and go. Two selectable speeds cover a 10 mph learner setting and a 20 mph setting for confident drivers, with forward and reverse on tap and a positraction rear end that keeps both wheels pulling through loose surfaces. Pneumatic 14-inch tires, 5 inches of ground clearance and a 15-degree climbing angle give it enough reach to handle a rough trail rather than just a driveway.

The cockpit is deliberately roomier than most karts in the class, with an adjustable seat and extra legroom so a growing rider is not folded up behind the wheel. It suits drivers 13 and up, from about 47 inches tall to 63 inches, carrying up to 150 lbs. A steel tubular frame, roll bar, seat belt and kill switch handle the safety side, and stopping is done through a foot-operated hydraulic rear disc.

Helmets and full safety gear are non-negotiable on this machine, and an adult should be supervising every session.

Normal wear items such as tires, tubes, brake pads, chains and batteries are not covered, and neither is damage from racing, jumping, collisions, improper assembly, modification, or riding beyond the rated limits.
