The Himiway D5 ST, previously sold as the Zebra ST, is the step-through version of Himiway's all-terrain fat-tire e-bike. Dropping the top tube lowers the standover height dramatically, so riders swing a leg through the frame instead of over it - a real difference for anyone with limited hip mobility, anyone riding in work clothes, or anyone who simply wants to put a foot down quickly at a light. Everything else is the full-size D5 platform: a 6061 aluminum frame, 26 x 4.0 Kenda fat tires and a 750W geared hub motor in the rear wheel.

Fat tires at that width spread the bike's weight over a much larger contact patch, which is why the D5 ST stays planted on surfaces that would swallow a narrower wheel - packed snow, loose sand, forest two-track and broken pavement all behave more predictably underneath you. A TRAMA FAT34-PLS suspension fork with 100mm of travel, a 15 x 135mm thru-axle and lockout takes the sting out of ruts and curbs, and can be locked solid when the road smooths out and you would rather not lose energy to fork bob.

Power comes from a Samsung/LG 48V 20Ah pack - 960Wh - which Himiway rates at 60 to 80 miles depending on how hard you lean on the motor. A torque sensor reads how much effort you are putting into the pedals and matches assistance to it, so the bike feels like a stronger version of you rather than a scooter that surges. A thumb throttle is fitted as well for pulling away from a stop or holding a steady pace without pedalling. Shifting is handled by a Shimano Altus M2000 9-speed drivetrain with an 11-36T cassette, and Tektro HD-E350 hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors front and rear deal with the stopping.

The step-through frame fits riders from 5'1" to 6'5", with the saddle adjustable between roughly 41.5 and 44 inches, and the bike carries a combined rider-and-cargo limit of 400 lb. At 79 lb with the battery in place it is a substantial machine, so a vehicle rack rated for e-bike weight is worth having if you plan to transport it.

How far can the d5 st go on one charge?
Himiway rates the 960wh samsung/lg battery at 60 to 80 miles. real-world range depends on rider weight, terrain, wind, tire pressure and how much assist you use - throttle-heavy riding will land at the low end of that band.
Does it have a throttle, and what class of e-bike is it?
Yes, a thumb throttle is fitted, and the bike reaches up to 20 mph on throttle alone. that makes it a class 2 pedal e-bike, which is street-legal in most u.s. jurisdictions - check your local rules for trail and bike-path access.
What size rider does the step-through frame fit?
Himiway lists a 5'1" to 6'5" rider range, with the saddle adjustable from roughly 41.5 to 44 inches. combined rider and cargo weight should stay under 400 lb.
What is the difference between the d5 st and the standard d5?
They share the motor, battery and fat-tire platform. the st uses a step-through frame with a 100mm thru-axle fork and a shimano altus m2000 9-speed drivetrain, while the standard d5 has a high top tube, a 95mm quick-release fork and a 7-speed drivetrain.
How much assembly is required?
The bike arrives largely built. typical final steps are fitting the front wheel, handlebar, pedals, seat post and the included fender kit and rear rack, then checking brakes and torque settings. the 16-in-1 tool and the manual are in the box.
How long does charging take?
The included u.s.-standard 3.0a fast charger refills the 20ah pack; charge from a standard household outlet and avoid charging immediately after a hard ride while the pack is still warm.
