The Himiway D5, sold previously as the Zebra, is the high-step version of Himiway's long-running all-terrain fat-tire e-bike. It pairs a 6061 aluminum frame with 26 x 4.0 Kenda fat tires and a 750W geared hub motor in the rear wheel, which together make it one of the more forgiving ways to ride surfaces that defeat a normal bike: packed snow, soft sand, gravel roads and rutted forest track.

The wide tires are doing a lot of the work here. At four inches across they spread the bike's weight over a much bigger footprint, so the wheel rides on top of loose ground instead of digging into it, and they soak up small impacts before the frame ever feels them. A TRAMA 95mm suspension fork with a quick-release axle handles the larger hits, and the upright riding position keeps weight off your wrists on longer days.

A Samsung/LG 48V 20Ah pack - 960Wh - feeds the motor, and Himiway rates the combination at 60 to 80 miles per charge. The D5 reads your pedal input through a torque sensor, so assistance builds in proportion to how hard you push rather than switching on in steps, and a thumb throttle is fitted for moving off from a stop or cruising without pedalling. A Shimano Altus M310 7-speed drivetrain with a 14-28T freewheel covers the gearing, and Tektro HD-E3520 hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors front and rear bring it all to a stop.

Himiway lists a 5'3" to 6'5" rider range with saddle height adjustable from about 34 to 42 inches, and a 400 lb combined rider-and-cargo limit. The bike weighs 79 lb with the battery fitted, so plan on an e-bike-rated rack if you intend to carry it on a vehicle.

Contact Adventure Motion support with your order number and photos of the issue to start a claim and we will handle it from there.

What range should i expect?
Himiway rates the 960wh pack at 60 to 80 miles. rider weight, hills, headwind, tire pressure and assist level all move that number, and riding mostly on the throttle will land you nearer the bottom of the range.
Is the d5 street legal, and does it have a throttle?
Yes. it is a class 2 pedal e-bike with a thumb throttle that assists up to 20 mph, which is street-legal in most u.s. jurisdictions. local rules on bike paths and trails still vary, so check before you ride.
Who does the frame fit?
Himiway lists a rider range of 5'3" to 6'5" with saddle height adjustable between roughly 34 and 42 inches. combined rider and cargo weight should stay at or under 400 lb.
How is this different from the d5 st?
The d5 is the high top tube version. the st is the same platform with a step-through frame, a 100mm thru-axle fork and a 9-speed drivetrain, which suits riders who want an easier mount.
What does assembly involve?
The bike arrives mostly assembled. you normally fit the front wheel, handlebar, pedals and seat post, install the included fender kit and rear rack, then check brake function and bolt torque using the supplied 16-in-1 tool and manual.
Can i ride it in snow or on the beach?
That is what the 4-inch tires are for. dropping tire pressure a little increases the contact patch on soft sand and snow. rinse and dry the bike after salt or saltwater exposure to protect the drivetrain and brake hardware.
