The Himiway A7 Pro is the mid-drive version of the A7 commuter, aimed at riders who want the natural pedalling feel of a crank-mounted motor on a bike that still handles like a city machine. A polished 6061 aluminum step-through frame keeps mounting easy in work clothes, and the full-suspension layout - an SR Suntour X1-Boost fork with 120mm of travel over a DNM AO-06 rear shock - keeps broken city tarmac from reaching your hands and back.

At the centre is an Ananda M100 48V 500W mid-drive motor with a torque sensor, which Himiway rates at 130Nm. Because the motor drives the chain rather than the wheel, you can shift down and let the gearing multiply torque on a steep street, and the response tracks your pedal pressure rather than simply switching on. A thumb throttle is fitted for pulling away from a stop. A Shimano Alivio 9-speed drivetrain with an 11-34T cassette covers the gear range, and a Bigstone M300C-TFT colour display handles the controls.

Rolling stock is specified for pavement: Schwalbe Super Moto-X 27.5 x 2.4 tires, which are fast on tarmac but wide enough to take potholes and gravel in their stride, on double-wall alloy rims. Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors provide the stopping power, and a suspension seat post with 100mm of travel plus a DDK saddle take care of what the rear shock misses.

A Samsung/LG 48V 15Ah battery - 720Wh - gives Himiway's quoted 35 to 50 mile range, refilled by the included 2.0A smart charger. The bike has an integrated ABUS rear-wheel lock for quick stops, an auto-illuminating brake light, a rear rack for panniers, a 300 lb total capacity and a 5'3" to 6'5" fit range, and weighs 77 lb.

How far does the a7 pro go on a charge?
Himiway rates the 720wh battery at 35 to 50 miles. mid-drive motors are efficient when you use the gears properly, so staying in a comfortable cadence rather than grinding in a high gear noticeably extends range.
Why choose the pro over the standard a7?
The pro swaps the hub motor for a 500w ananda mid-drive with 130nm, adds a shimano alivio 9-speed drivetrain, schwalbe super moto-x tires, a four-bar rear linkage with an sr suntour fork and an integrated abus lock. the standard a7 has a larger payload rating and a published 70-mile pedal-assist figure.
Does it have a throttle, and is it street legal?
Yes - a thumb throttle is fitted alongside torque-sensing pedal assist, so it operates as a class 2 pedal e-bike, street-legal in most u.s. jurisdictions. check local bike-path and trail rules.
What rider sizes does it fit?
Himiway lists 5'3" to 6'5". total capacity for rider plus cargo is 300 lb, which is lower than the standard a7, so check that against what you plan to carry.
How does the abus lock work?
It is a frame-integrated rear-wheel lock: turn the key and a shackle blocks the rear wheel, which is enough to stop someone riding off while you duck into a shop. for longer stops, add a chain or u-lock through the frame and a fixed object.
Does the mid-drive need extra maintenance?
The chain and cassette carry the motor's torque, so they wear faster than on a hub-drive bike. keep the chain clean and lubricated, briefly ease pedal pressure when shifting under power, and replace the chain before it wears the cassette.
