The controller is the brushless motor controller that sits between the battery, the motor and the rider's inputs, holding speed steady and keeping braking and direction changes responsive. This is a replacement part ordered by model: variants cover D3 and D3 ST (Cruiser and Cruiser ST), D5 and D5 ST (Zebra and Zebra ST) in both cadence and torque forms, D5 2.0 and D5 2.0 20-inch, D7 and Cobra, C3, C5 Sport and C5 Ultra, A3, A7 Large, A7 Regular, B3, Big Dog, Escape Pro and the Rhino hub drive.

Several models need one more check beyond the name on the box. The Zebra and D5 cadence controller and the D5 torque controller differ in detail and are told apart by the chainring design. D3 and Cruiser controllers split three ways: frame numbers beginning 'MT' with a silver connection, frame numbers beginning 'MT' with a black connection, and frame numbers beginning '185' or 'FLE'. Escape Pro splits between frame numbers beginning 'MT' and those beginning '185' or 'FL'. Checking your frame number and connector colour first is what keeps this from becoming a returned order.

The housing is aluminium alloy, chosen so the unit stays rigid and sheds heat over a long service life, and the wiring and interfaces are built to hold up to repeated connection. Each interface carries an instruction label, so the loom can be reconnected correctly during fitting without guesswork.

Compatibility

  • D5 cadence: Zebra, Zebra ST, D5 cadence - distinguished by the chainring design
  • D5 torque: D5 Torque, D5 Torque ST - distinguished by the chainring design
  • D5 2.0: D5 2.0, D5 2.0 ST, and a separate variant for the D5 2.0 20"
  • D3 and Cruiser: Frame number starting 'MT' with silver connection, 'MT' with black connection, or '185'/'FLE' - three separate variants
  • D7 family: Separate variants for D7 and for Cobra
  • A and B series: A3, B3, A7 Large and A7 Regular - A7 sizes identified from the fitting diagrams
  • C series: C3, C5 Sport, C5 Ultra
  • Other models: Big Dog, Rhino hub drive, Escape Pro ('MT' or '185'/'FL' frame numbers)

Construction

  • Type: Brushless motor controller
  • Housing material: Aluminium alloy
  • Interfaces: Labelled connectors for correct reconnection during fitting
  • Voltage rating: Not published on this listing - order by model variant

  • Brushless controller that holds steady speed and keeps braking and direction response sharp
  • Aluminium alloy housing for rigidity and heat dissipation
  • Durable wiring and interfaces built for repeated connection cycles
  • Every interface carries an instruction label, so the loom reconnects correctly
  • Model-specific variants across the D3, D5, D7, A, B and C ranges
  • Separate cadence and torque versions for the Zebra and D5 platform
  • Frame-number and connector-colour variants so older and newer builds are both covered

This part is covered against defects in materials and workmanship on arrival. Himiway does not publish a separate warranty term for replacement parts bought on their own, so contact Adventure Motion support with your order number and photos if something arrives faulty or fails early, and we will confirm coverage and handle the claim.

Wear items such as tires, inner tubes, brake pads and brake rotors are consumables and are not covered beyond transit damage. Damage from crashes, incorrect fitting, modification or use outside the part's rated limits is also excluded.

Which controller fits my bike?
Start with the variant that names your model, then check the extra qualifier where there is one. zebra and d5 split between cadence and torque versions by chainring design. d3 and cruiser split by frame number ('mt' or '185'/'fle') and, on 'mt' frames, by whether the connection is silver or black. escape pro splits between 'mt' and '185'/'fl' frame numbers.
How do i tell a cadence controller from a torque one?
On the zebra and d5 platform the two are distinguished by the chainring design. if you are unsure which your bike has, contact adventure motion support before ordering.
What voltage is this controller?
A voltage rating is not published on this listing. controllers are matched to the bike by model variant rather than selected by voltage, so order the variant that names your model.
Where do i find my frame number?
It is stamped on the frame of the bike. several variants depend on whether it begins 'mt', '185', 'fl' or 'fle', so read it before choosing a variant.
Is this hard to install?
Each interface is labelled, which makes reconnecting the loom straightforward, but the job involves the bike's main electrical system. if you are not confident working on e-bike wiring, have a bike mechanic fit it.
What is the housing made of?
Aluminium alloy, which keeps the unit sturdy and helps it shed heat in use.
