MotoTec 49cc Gas Mini Bike V2 - Recreational Off-Road Use Only

The V2 is MotoTec's updated take on its 49cc minibike, and the changes are aimed squarely at comfort and control. Front suspension is the headline addition, since the original runs a fully rigid frame, and it is paired with BMX-style handlebars and a finger-lever throttle that is easier to feather than a full twist grip and harder to pin by accident.

The wheels grew as well. The V2 rides on 11-inch pneumatic street tires, 90/65-6.5 at the front and a wider 110/50-6.5 at the rear, against the original's pair of 10-inch 3.00-4 tires. Braking moves to a single rear disc instead of the two discs on the first version, seat height is now adjustable rather than fixed at 26 inches, the tank grows slightly to 1.1 liters, and the bike comes in five colors.

Underneath, the recipe is unchanged. A 49cc air-cooled EPA-approved two-stroke starts on a pull cord and feeds a T8F 86-link chain through a centrifugal clutch, running on unleaded mixed with two-stroke oil at 32:1 for 10 to 20 miles per tank. The wider 43 x 29 x 38 inch stance, against the original's 39 x 17 x 38, reflects the BMX bars and larger wheels. MotoTec rates it for riders 13 and older up to 185 lbs, and it arrives needing assembly.
