MotoTec Mud Monster 98cc Go Kart Full Suspension - Recreational Off-Road Use Only

The MotoTec Mud Monster is a single-seat off-road go kart aimed at younger drivers who have outgrown battery-powered ride-ons. A 98cc four-stroke OHV engine rated at 2.5 HP turns the rear wheels through a centrifugal clutch and chain, so there is nothing to shift: press the pedal and the kart pulls away. The engine carries both EPA and CARB approval, which clears it for California as well as the rest of the country.

Every corner rides on hydraulic damping, with two shocks at the front and a single unit at the rear, all mounted to a tubular steel frame. Positraction feeds drive to both rear wheels so the kart keeps pulling on loose dirt, and a foot-operated hydraulic rear disc brake handles stopping. Pneumatic 14-inch tires, wider at the rear than the front, keep the kart planted without beating up the driver on broken ground.

Safety equipment is built in rather than optional. A roll bar wraps the seating area, a seat belt holds the driver in place, and a kill switch cuts the engine instantly. The seat adjusts to suit a growing driver, and MotoTec allows up to 63 inches of rider height with a 47-inch minimum, a 150 lb weight limit and a recommended age of 13 and up. Metal throttle and brake pedals replace the plastic parts used on lighter karts.
