The Scott Aerator Atriarch Fountain for medium residential ponds is the mid-range step in the Atriarch line, built for ponds and small lakes that are too large for a half-horsepower display. Water leaves a solid brass center jet surrounded by a ring of eight brass nozzles, producing a tiered, layered spray. Two motor sizes are offered: the one-horsepower version covers approximately 30 feet by 40 feet, while the one-and-a-half-horsepower version opens the pattern out to roughly 40 feet by 50 feet. Either works as a residential centerpiece or as a landscape feature on commercial property.

Both sizes use an oil-free submersible motor in a stainless-steel housing, turning at 3,450 rpm on single-phase 60 Hz power. The one-horsepower motor draws 0.75 kW and moves 75 gallons per minute, and it can be ordered at 115 volts or 230 volts. The one-and-a-half-horsepower motor is 230 volts only, draws 10.6 amps and moves 90 gallons per minute. Neither motor holds oil, so there is nothing to drain or top off, and no control box has to be mounted on shore. Three-phase and 50 Hz builds are available for installations that need them.

Required water depth and anchoring weight both scale with the motor. The one-horsepower unit needs a minimum of 44 inches of depth and is held in place by two 35-pound weights or concrete blocks; the one-and-a-half-horsepower unit needs at least 50 inches and two 45-pound weights. Both use two nylon ropes, and neither the weights nor the rope ship with the fountain. Cord length is a selectable option on every configuration, with 100 feet standard and 150-, 200- and 250-foot submersible cords available for ponds set back from the power source. The feed circuit has to be GFCI protected, power should be shut off any time swimmers are in the water, and a 115-volt motor should stay within 100 feet of the main breaker.

Scott Aerator builds these fountains in Holland, Michigan, and designs them to tolerate freezing, so there is no winterizing routine to follow. At the end of the season you switch off the power and leave the unit in the water, then turn it back on once the ice has gone. Both motors are rated for fresh and salt water and for continuous 24-hour operation, and an LED light set can be fitted at purchase or added later if the pond gets evening use.

Damage from improper wiring, running the unit without a GFCI, operating it outside its rated voltage, freezing in a dry unit, or physical impact is not covered.

What water depth does this fountain need?
It depends on the motor. the 1 hp version needs a minimum of 44 inches and the 1 1/2 hp version needs at least 50 inches, so the motor intake stays clear of the pond bottom.
Which motor size should i choose?
The 1 hp motor moves 75 gpm and sprays about 30 ft by 40 ft; the 1 1/2 hp motor moves 90 gpm and sprays about 40 ft by 50 ft. pick based on the display size you want and whether your pond meets the deeper 50-inch requirement for the larger motor.
Should i choose the 115 v or the 230 v motor?
The 1 hp motor is offered in both. use 115 v only if the fountain will sit within 100 feet of the main breaker; beyond that, order 230 v. the 1 1/2 hp motor is 230 v only. either way the circuit has to be gfci protected.
Do i have to pull the fountain out for winter?
No. the unit is built to tolerate freezing, so you turn off the power and leave it in the pond, then restore power once the ice has melted.
What do i need for anchoring?
Two nylon ropes plus two weights or concrete blocks: 35 pounds each for the 1 hp motor, 45 pounds each for the 1 1/2 hp motor. none of this hardware is supplied with the fountain.
What cord lengths are available?
A 100-foot submersible cord is standard, and 150-, 200- and 250-foot lengths are selectable options if the pond sits farther from the power source.
