The Baystone Fountain for small residential ponds is a floating display fountain sized for backyard and small acreage water features. Its nozzle lifts a raised peak through the middle of the pattern and surrounds it with a wider traditional outer spray, so the display reads as one structured shape instead of a loose plume. Two motor sizes cover this size class, a 1/2 hp and a 3/4 hp, and each one has its own flow rate, spray footprint and depth requirement.

Power comes from a stainless-steel submersible motor that runs oil-free. There is no oil to drain or top off and no shore-mounted control box to wire, which keeps installation down to floating the unit, anchoring it and running a GFCI-protected circuit out to it. Both motors are single-phase 60 Hz units turning at 3,450 rpm, and the fountain is built in Holland, Michigan. Three-phase and 50 Hz builds can be ordered when a site calls for them.

With the 1/2 hp motor the fountain moves 50 gallons per minute and throws a pattern measuring up to 8 feet high by 20 feet wide, and it needs a minimum of 36 inches of water beneath it. The 3/4 hp motor raises output to 65 gallons per minute and opens the display to roughly 10 feet high by 25 feet wide, with a 44-inch minimum pond depth. Current draw is 10 amps at 115 volts or 5 amps at 230 volts on the 1/2 hp, and 10.7 amps at 115 volts or 6.8 amps at 230 volts on the 3/4 hp.

The unit is rated for continuous around-the-clock running and approved for both fresh and salt water, and it asks for no seasonal maintenance routine. Winter shutdown is simply cutting power and leaving the fountain in the pond until spring, when power goes back on. Motor voltage, power cord length and an optional LED light set are all chosen at purchase, and a light set can be added to a fountain already in service.

How deep does my pond need to be?
At least 36 inches of water for the 1/2 hp motor and at least 44 inches for the 3/4 hp motor, measured where the fountain will float.
Do i need a control box or any special electrical equipment?
No control box is required. the fountain does need to be connected to a gfci-protected circuit, and if you choose a 115 v motor the main breaker must be within 100 feet of the unit, otherwise select the 230 v motor.
What has to be supplied for anchoring?
Two weights or concrete blocks and two nylon ropes, none of which are included. the 1/2 hp motor calls for 25 lb weights and the 3/4 hp motor calls for 20 lb weights.
What do i do with the fountain in winter?
There is no winterizing procedure. shut off the power and leave the fountain in place, then restore power once the ice has thawed in spring.
Can it be used in salt water?
Yes. the fountain is approved for both fresh and salt water.
Can lights be added later?
Yes. an led light set can be chosen with the fountain at purchase or added to a unit that is already installed.
