The Gusher Fountain for medium residential ponds produces a single heavy column of water rather than a spreading veil, and it is offered in three motor sizes that set how tall that column runs. The 3/4 hp reaches 18 ft, the 1 hp reaches 23 ft, and the 1 1/2 hp reaches 30 ft. Because the water stays concentrated instead of atomizing, the display keeps its shape when the wind picks up, which is usually the difference between a fountain that looks the same all day and one that disappears into drifting spray.

The column is doing useful work as well. Water lifted into the air and dropped back absorbs oxygen, and that added oxygen is what helps break down decaying vegetation in the pond. Constant surface movement also makes the water a poor place for mosquitoes to breed. For evening use, LED light sets are available in two-light and four-light configurations and can be fitted at purchase or added later.

All three motors are oil-free stainless-steel submersible units running at 3,450 rpm on 60 Hz single-phase power, with 3-phase and 50 Hz versions available. Flow rises with the motor, from 65 gallons per minute on the 3/4 hp to 70 GPM on the 1 hp and 90 GPM on the 1 1/2 hp. The 3/4 hp and 1 hp can be specified in 115 V or 230 V; the 1 1/2 hp is 230 V only. None of them have oil to change and none require a control box on shore. Scott Aerator builds them in Holland, Michigan, and approves them for fresh and salt water.

Siting requirements climb with the motor and should be checked before ordering. The 3/4 hp needs 36 inches of water depth and two 20 lb weights or blocks; the 1 hp needs 44 inches and two 35 lb weights; the 1 1/2 hp needs 50 inches and two 45 lb weights. Every configuration also uses two nylon ropes, and the weights and ropes are supplied by the installer. The 3/4 hp ships with a 70 ft cord and the larger two with 100 ft, and longer lengths can be ordered. A GFCI is required, and a 115 V motor should only be used when the main breaker is within 100 ft of the fountain. For winter, cut the power and leave the unit where it floats.

Scott Aerator covers this unit with a five-year warranty against motor failure and a one-year warranty against factory defects on all other components, extended to the original owner from the date of purchase.

Warranty service is handled at the factory. A unit needing inspection must be sent in with shipping prepaid by the owner; once the fault is confirmed, replaced parts are returned with shipping prepaid. Damage from improper wiring, running the unit without a GFCI, operating it outside its rated voltage, freezing in a dry unit, or physical impact is not covered.

How tall is the spray on each motor?
The 3/4 hp produces an 18 ft column, the 1 hp a 23 ft column, and the 1 1/2 hp a 30 ft column.
What water depth does each size need?
A minimum of 36 inches for the 3/4 hp, 44 inches for the 1 hp, and 50 inches for the 1 1/2 hp.
Can i get the 1 1/2 hp in 115 v?
No. the 1 1/2 hp motor is 230 v only. the 3/4 hp and 1 hp are available in either 115 v or 230 v, and 115 v should only be used when the main breaker is within 100 ft of the fountain.
How much anchoring weight is required?
Two 20 lb weights or concrete blocks for the 3/4 hp, two 35 lb for the 1 hp, and two 45 lb for the 1 1/2 hp, plus two nylon ropes in every case. none of these items ship with the fountain.
Is a control box part of the installation?
No. the submersible motor operates without one, so the work is limited to anchoring the fountain and connecting it to a gfci-protected circuit.
What has to be done before freezing weather?
Only switch off the power. the fountain stays in the pond through winter and is restarted in spring; there is no winterizing procedure.
