This is the replacement submersible motor for pond fountain and aerator units, the part that gets changed when a motor fails rather than replacing the whole unit. The listing spans the full range, from 1/3 horsepower up to 3 horsepower, in both 115-volt and 230-volt forms. Horsepower and voltage both have to match the unit being repaired, so read the data plate on the motor coming out before choosing an option: a motor of the wrong rating will not drive the unit properly even where it physically fits.

The motors come from established pump-motor manufacturers and are built with all-stainless-steel exteriors, since they spend their service life fully submerged. All are UL 778 recognized, CSA certified and ANSI/NSF 61 certified, and all use NEMA standard mounting dimensions. Internally they are water-lubricated, with hermetically sealed windings in an anti-track, self-healing resin system, a Kingsbury-type thrust bearing, a pressure-equalizing diaphragm, a filter check valve and a stainless steel splined shaft. Lightning arrestors are built into the single-phase models.

The 2 and 3 horsepower motors differ in one way that matters more than any other: they are three-wire units and must be run with their matching control box. The motor and the box are treated as a single assembly, and running one of these motors without a control box, or with the wrong one, will fail the motor and voids the warranty. Both ratings are therefore offered with or without a box, so pick the version that matches what you actually have rather than assuming a spare box on the shelf will do. The smaller 1/3 to 1 horsepower motors carry no stated control box requirement.

Replacement motors carry a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase, to the original owner.

On the two and three horsepower motors the warranty is void if the motor is run without a control box, or with a control box that does not match the motor. The motor and its box are a matched assembly and the motor will fail without the correct one.

Contact Adventure Motion support with your order number to start a claim. Damage from wiring the motor to the wrong voltage, running it dry, or physical impact is not covered.

Which horsepower and voltage do i need?
Match both to the motor you are replacing. the listing runs from 1/3 hp to 3 hp, with 115-volt options at 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 hp and 230-volt options from 1/3 hp up to 3 hp. no cross-reference list of units to motor ratings is published, so if the data plate is unreadable, send adventure motion support the model of the fountain or aerator and we can confirm the rating before you order.
Do these motors need a control box?
The 2 hp and 3 hp motors do, without exception. they are three-wire units, and the motor and control box are treated as a single assembly: running one of these motors without a box, or with a box that is not the matching one, will fail the motor and voids the warranty. order the version that includes a control box unless you are certain the box you already have is the correct match. no control box requirement is stated for the 1/3 to 1 horsepower motors.
Can i reuse the control box from my old 2 hp or 3 hp motor?
Only if it is the correct box for the motor you are fitting. a mismatched box is treated the same as no box at all and carries the same consequence. if you are reusing one, have adventure motion support confirm the pairing against your old box before ordering the motor on its own.
Does a power cord come with the motor?
No. every motor ships with an 18-inch motor lead only. the cord that runs back to shore is selected separately in 50, 70 or 100 foot lengths, or left off if you are reusing an existing run.
Are three-phase or 50 hz motors available?
Single-phase is standard across the listed range. three-phase, 50 hz and larger motors can be sourced to order, so contact adventure motion support with the rating you need and we can check availability.
