The Shallow Water Adapter lets a Scott Aerator fountain or aerator run in water far shallower than a standard installation allows, down to depths of about 28 in. In a shallow pond or lake margin, a normally mounted unit sits too close to the bottom and pulls in silt and debris, which interrupts the spray and starves the intake. The adapter repositions the unit so it draws clean water instead.

What that fixes depends on which unit you have. On an aerator, holding the intake clear of the bottom keeps circulation and oxygen transfer working as intended, which in turn discourages the stagnant, algae-prone conditions shallow water tends toward. On a fountain, it keeps the display running without the breaks and sputtering that come from a starved or clogged intake.

Two versions are sold, and they are not interchangeable. The aerator kit, part 14500.KIT, is listed for the DA-20, North Star and Boilermaker aerator lines and includes a Debris Shield Basket. The fountain kit, part 14510.KIT, covers the fountain line and includes a Fountain Filter. Both are for Scott Aerator equipment only, and neither includes the fountain or aerator itself. Note that shallow water base purchases require the unit to be sent in with a repair request so the base can be fitted correctly, so plan the install around that rather than expecting a bolt-on at the pond.

Choosing and Fitting the Right Kit

  • Aerator kit, part 14500.KIT: for the DA-20, North Star and Boilermaker aerator lines, and it includes one Debris Shield Basket
  • Fountain kit, part 14510.KIT: for the fountain line, and it includes one Fountain Filter
  • For use with Scott Aerator products only
  • The fountain or aerator unit is not included and is sold separately
  • Shallow water base purchases require the unit to be shipped in with a repair request for proper fitting
  • Confirm motor voltage before ordering: a 115 V motor must sit within 100 ft of the main breaker, and anything beyond that needs a 230 V motor
