The Wire Splice Kit is a submersible splice kit for repairing and extending the underwater cabling on pond equipment. It covers the three jobs that come up most often: patching a small cut in an existing cable, wiring in a replacement motor, and adding length to a run by splicing in additional power cable.

Four kit types are offered, and the one you need is set by the cable you are working on rather than by the model of your unit. The Motor Cable Splice Kit and the Oscillator Splice Kit are both 3-wire. The RGB Light Splice Kit and the Night Glo Light Splice Kit are both 5-wire, because the lighting circuits carry more conductors. A 3-wire kit will not serve a 5-wire light cable and a 5-wire kit will not serve a 3-wire motor or oscillator cable, so count the conductors in the cable before ordering.

Because the splice sits underwater and carries line voltage, it has to be made correctly to stay sealed. Written splicing instructions and an instructional video are both available, and hiring a licensed electrician is a reasonable option if you would rather not make the connection yourself.

Which Kit You Need

  • Motor Cable Splice Kit, part 20120: 3-wire, for motor cable
  • Oscillator Splice Kit, part 20120.1: 3-wire, for oscillator cable
  • RGB Light Splice Kit, part 20120.RGB: 5-wire, for RGB light cable
  • Night Glo Light Splice Kit, part 20120.NG: 5-wire, for Night Glo light cable
  • Match the conductor count of the cable you are splicing; 3-wire and 5-wire kits are not interchangeable

No fixed warranty term is published for this item. It is covered against defects in materials and workmanship on arrival, so contact Adventure Motion support with your order number and photos if it arrives faulty or does not match what you ordered, and we will confirm coverage and handle the claim.

Normal wear and consumable service life are not covered, and neither is damage from installation outside the stated compatibility or operating conditions.

Which kit do i need?
It depends on the cable, not the model. motor and oscillator cable take the 3-wire kits, parts 20120 and 20120.1. rgb and night glo light cable take the 5-wire kits, parts 20120.rgb and 20120.ng. count the conductors in your cable before ordering.
Can i use a motor kit on a light cable?
No. the motor and oscillator kits are 3-wire and the light kits are 5-wire, so they are not interchangeable.
Is the splice safe underwater?
The kits are submersible and intended for underwater connections, provided the splice is made according to the instructions.
Can i use this to make my cable longer?
Yes. one of its intended uses is extending an existing run by splicing in additional power cable.
Do i need an electrician?
Not necessarily. written instructions and a video are available, but hiring a licensed electrician is a reasonable choice given the connection is submerged and carries line voltage.
