The Renogy 500A Battery Monitor With Shunt gives you a precise, real-time picture of what is happening inside your battery bank, so you are never guessing how much capacity is left. It works on systems from 10V to 120V and handles up to 500A, making it a fit for solar battery banks as well as golf carts, electric scooters, and other battery-powered equipment.

Because it measures through a shunt, voltage and current readings stay within about 1% accuracy. The backlit LCD shows voltage, current, power consumed, remaining capacity, and battery degradation, and its brightness can be adjusted. High and low capacity alarms flash the backlight and voltage readout to warn you before a battery is over-discharged. A clear shunt holder simplifies mounting, and the 20ft shielded cable lets you place the display well away from the batteries.

The monitor supports lead-acid (AGM and gel), lithium iron phosphate, lithium-ion, and nickel-metal hydride chemistries. Renogy notes that the display should not sit in prolonged direct sun or strong UV exposure, and that extreme cold below -10°C or heat above 60°C can shorten the LCD's lifespan.

Why use the battery monitor if i already have a renogy bluetooth module?
The monitor suits anyone who prefers a dedicated display near the system or doesn't use a smartphone, and it also works with other battery applications like golf carts and scooters. the bluetooth module is for monitoring from a phone or tablet; it reads renogy lifepo4 batteries through their rj45 port, while lead-acid battery data comes through the charge controller.
Can one monitor track more than one battery?
Yes. follow the connection instructions in the user manual carefully when wiring a multi-battery bank.
How do i wire and calibrate the monitor?
Wiring and calibration steps are covered in the renogy user manual listed under product resources.
Which battery types are supported?
Lead-acid (agm and gel), lithium iron phosphate, lithium-ion, and nickel-metal hydride.
How accurate are the readings?
Voltage, current, and capacity readings are accurate to within ±1%.
Where should i mount the display?
Keep it out of long-term direct sunlight and strong uv, and avoid storage or use below -10°c or above 60°c, which can shorten the lcd's life.
