Diffusers are the parts of a subsurface aeration system that do the work in the water. They sit on the pond bottom, fed by weighted airline from a compressor on shore, and release compressed air as a column of fine bubbles. As the bubbles rise they draw bottom water up with them to the surface, where it takes on oxygen and gives off gases, and that circulation is what cuts odors and helps bottom sediment break down.

Three replacements are listed here. The high-efficiency O2 diffuser uses micro-porous tubing on a self-sinking stainless steel base with no sharp edges, takes 1 to 10 CFM, accepts 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch airline and moves 600 gallons per minute at a depth of 6 feet. It is built from stainless steel and EPDM rubber, is rated for fresh and salt water, is made in the USA, and has an integrated handle and rope tie-off for setting it and pulling it back up.

The single and double diffusers are powder-coated carbon steel with round EPDM membranes, take 1.6 to 6 CFM and accept 3/8-inch, 1/2-inch or 5/8-inch tubing. The single is the replacement for Bubble Pro and Bubble Pro Mini systems; the double is for Bubble Pro Max and Bubble Pro Max XL. Both are specified for fresh water only, so a brackish or salt pond needs the stainless high-efficiency unit instead.

What's Included

  • High-efficiency O2 diffuser: supplied with a check valve and a hose strain relief clamp
  • Airline tubing is not included with any of the three diffusers
  • The compressor or windmill aerator that supplies the air is sold separately

  • Single and double diffusers use round EPDM membranes on powder-coated carbon steel bases

Warranty depends on which diffuser you select. The high-efficiency O2 diffuser is covered by a lifetime warranty, and the single and double diffusers are covered for five years, in both cases against defects in materials and workmanship to the original owner.

Contact Adventure Motion support with your order number and the diffuser version you bought to start a claim.

Membranes clogged by heavy sediment or biological fouling are a maintenance item rather than a warranty failure, and damage from running the diffuser above its rated pressure is not covered.

Which diffuser replaces the one on my system?
The single diffuser is the replacement for bubble pro and bubble pro mini systems, and the double is for bubble pro max and bubble pro max xl. the high-efficiency o2 diffuser is the higher-airflow option and the only one rated for salt water. if you are unsure which your system was built with, adventure motion support can confirm it.
Can any of these be used in salt water?
Only the high-efficiency o2 diffuser, which is rated for fresh and salt water. the single and double diffusers are specified for fresh water only.
How much air does each one need?
The high-efficiency o2 diffuser runs on 1 to 10 cfm. the single and double diffusers take 1.6 to 6 cfm. check the figure against your compressor's output before ordering, since an undersized compressor will not drive the diffuser properly.
Is airline tubing included?
No. tubing is sold separately for all three, as is the compressor or windmill aerator. the high-efficiency o2 diffuser does include a check valve and a hose strain relief clamp.
Does the diffuser need to be anchored?
The high-efficiency o2 diffuser has a self-sinking stainless steel base, plus a handle and rope tie-off for lowering and retrieving it. no anchoring requirement is published for the single and double diffusers, so ask adventure motion support if you want that confirmed for your installation.
