The AKEZ M600 is the one bike in this group that is not built around a hub motor. It uses a Bafang M600 48V 500W mid-drive unit with a torque sensor, mounted at the bottom bracket so power goes through the chain and the bike's gears rather than directly into the rear wheel. The difference is felt rather than read off a spec sheet: a torque-sensing mid-drive meters assistance to how hard you are actually pedaling, so the bike feels like a stronger version of you instead of a motor pushing from behind. Peak output is 750W, and because the motor drives through the drivetrain it can use the full 9-speed gear range to multiply torque on a steep climb.

That makes this the trail-climbing bike of the lineup. The frame is a custom 6061 aluminum four-link full-suspension design built around 27.5-inch wheels, with an air-controlled front fork and SR SUNTOUR pneumatic suspension handling the rear. Keeping the motor low and central also improves weight distribution compared with a rear-hub layout, which helps on technical ground where balance matters more than raw output. KENDA 27.5 x 2.8-inch tires on double-layer alloy rims give a wide contact patch without the rolling resistance of a 4-inch fat tire.

Components are picked for trail duty. Shifting runs a SHIMANO M2021 9-speed trigger shifter with an M390 rear derailleur and a KMC chain, braking is handled by NUTT hydraulic discs front and rear, and the rider interface is Bafang's own full-color backlit central display, rated IP67 for water resistance. Jiuyu sealed-bearing hubs, TUBRO handlebars and WELLGO pedals round out the build.

Power comes from a removable 48V 13Ah pack that lifts out for charging off the bike. AKEZ's published range figures for this model vary across their own materials, so treat range as an estimate that depends heavily on terrain, assist level and rider weight: a mid-drive used mostly at low assist on rolling ground will go considerably further than one worked hard up long climbs. Rated payload is 200 lb, which is lower than the fat-tire models in this range, so check it against your own loaded weight. The bike arrives about 85 percent pre-assembled.

What is the advantage of a mid-drive over a hub motor?
A mid-drive sends power through the chain and gears, so it can use the bike's full gear range to multiply torque on steep ground, where a hub motor is stuck at one effective ratio. mounting the motor low and central also improves weight distribution and handling on technical terrain.
What does the torque sensor change?
A torque sensor measures how hard you are pedaling and scales assistance to match, instead of simply switching on once the cranks start turning. the result is a more natural feel, smoother power output and better battery efficiency.
How far will it go on a charge?
Akez's own published range figures for this model are inconsistent, so treat any single number with caution. real range on a 48v 13ah mid-drive depends heavily on assist level, terrain and rider weight.
What is the rated payload?
200 lb. that is noticeably lower than akez's fat-tire models, so check it against your weight plus any gear you plan to carry.
Is the battery removable?
Yes. the 48v 13ah pack lifts out, so it can be charged indoors or swapped without moving the bike.
How much assembly is required?
Akez supplies the bike around 85 percent assembled, with the tool kit and user manual needed to finish the job.
