The Big Dog Extended Large Rear Rack is the heavy-duty touring platform for the Himiway Big Dog, and the payload figure is the headline: 150 lb. That is cargo-bike territory rather than commuter-rack territory, and it comes from the way the rack braces — the stays and the frame form a triangle, which is what stops a long rack flexing under a loaded pannier set.

The frame is high-strength anodized aluminum alloy, joined with stainless steel screws and anti-loosening nuts so the joints stay tight over washboard and potholes instead of working loose over a season. The rust-proof coating is there for wet-weather riding as much as for looks, so rain rides do not leave marks on the finish.
