This is the 1 to 1 1/2 horsepower Boilermaker, the middle of the range and the size the manufacturer positions as the best balance of output against running cost. Like the rest of the family it is a low-profile surface aerator: rather than lifting a tall fountain, it churns up a white boil of heavily aerated water, which puts the motor's work into oxygen transfer and circulation across the pond.

The 1 hp motor moves 500 gallons per minute and the 1 1/2 hp moves 600, both turning at 3,450 rpm. The 1 hp version suits residential ponds larger than an eighth of an acre with at least 36 inches of depth; the 1 1/2 hp is aimed at ponds over a quarter acre needing 38 inches. Through the cold season the same unit can be left running as a de-icer, or shut down and left in the water with the power off.

Drive is a stainless-steel submersible motor that runs oil-free, built in Holland, Michigan. Nothing needs draining or topping up, there is no maintenance schedule to keep and no control box to mount on the bank. The aerator is approved for both fresh and salt water and designed for continuous 24-hour operation.

The 1 hp motor is offered in 115 V or 230 V and the 1 1/2 hp in 230 V only; choose 230 V whenever the run from the main breaker to the pond is longer than 100 feet. Submersible cord is supplied at 70 feet on the 1 hp models and 100 feet on the 1 1/2 hp, with lengths available out to 250 feet. Optional LED light sets - color-changing or "Night Glo", in two-light or four-light configurations - can be specified with the order or added later.

Scott Aerator covers this unit with a five-year warranty against motor failure and a one-year warranty against factory defects on all other components, extended to the original owner from the date of purchase.

Warranty service is handled at the factory. A unit needing inspection must be sent in with shipping prepaid by the owner; once the fault is confirmed, replaced parts are returned with shipping prepaid. Contact Adventure Motion support with your order number before sending anything in and we will start the claim.

Damage from improper wiring, running the unit without a GFCI, operating it outside its rated voltage, freezing in a dry unit, or physical impact is not covered.

What does the boil pattern do that a fountain plume does not?
Keeping the discharge low puts more of the motor's output into moving and mixing water rather than lifting it into the air, which favours oxygen transfer and circulation over visual height.
Which motor suits my pond?
The 1 hp version is intended for ponds over an eighth of an acre with at least 36 inches of depth. the 1 1/2 hp is for ponds over a quarter acre with at least 38 inches.
Can it run through the winter?
Yes - it can be left running as a de-icer. alternatively, switch the power off and leave the unit in the water, then restore power after the thaw. there is no winterizing procedure either way.
Do i need a gfci and a control box?
A ground fault circuit interrupter is required on the supply circuit. no control box is needed; the submersible motor runs without one. installed as a complete package the unit is arl-tested and compliant with ul standards and the national electric code.
When do i need the 230 v motor?
Whenever the distance from the main breaker to the aerator exceeds 100 feet. the 1 1/2 hp motor is only available in 230 v.
What do i supply for anchoring?
Two weights or concrete blocks and two nylon ropes, which are not included - 35 lb weights for the 1 hp motor and 45 lb for the 1 1/2 hp.
