The Boilermaker in its small-pond configuration is a surface aerator built for water movement rather than for show. Instead of throwing a tall fountain plume, it produces a low, churning boil of heavily aerated water at the surface - the kind of pattern that favours oxygen transfer and circulation over height. Three motor sizes are available at one-third, one-half and three-quarter horsepower, covering residential ponds up to about three-quarters of an acre.

Because the discharge stays close to the water, more of the motor's energy goes into moving volume and mixing the pond than into lifting water into the air. The one-third horsepower motor turns over 300 gallons per minute, the one-half 400 and the three-quarter 450, all at 3,450 rpm. The same unit also serves as a de-icer through the cold months, keeping an opening in the surface where it operates.

The motor is a stainless-steel submersible unit running oil-free, assembled in Holland, Michigan. There are no oil changes, no routine maintenance and no shore-mounted control box to wire. It is approved for fresh and salt water and designed for 24-hour-a-day running. For winter shutdown there is nothing to drain or remove - cut the power, leave the aerator in place, and restore power once the water has thawed.

Motors come in 115 V and 230 V. Choose 230 V if the aerator will sit more than 100 feet from the main breaker. A 70-foot submersible cord is standard, with 100, 150 and 200-foot options, and LED light sets - color-changing or "Night Glo", in two-light or four-light arrangements - can be added at purchase or retrofitted.

Damage from improper wiring, running the unit without a GFCI, operating it outside its rated voltage, freezing in a dry unit, or physical impact is not covered.

How is this different from a display fountain?
The boilermaker produces a low, heavily aerated boil at the surface instead of a tall plume. the trade-off is less visual height in exchange for more water movement and mixing from the same motor.
How deep does the pond need to be?
At least 32 inches for the 1/3 hp and 1/2 hp motors, and at least 34 inches for the 3/4 hp.
Can i leave it running in winter?
Yes. it is designed to work as a de-icer. if you would rather shut it down, cut the power and leave the unit in the pond, then restore power once the water thaws.
Is a gfci required?
Yes. the circuit feeding the aerator must have a ground fault circuit interrupter. installed as a complete package the unit is arl-tested and meets ul standards and the national electric code.
115 v or 230 v?
Use 115 v only when the aerator is within 100 feet of the main breaker. beyond that, select the 230 v motor.
What do i need for anchoring?
Two 20 lb weights or concrete blocks and two nylon ropes. none of these are included with the aerator.
