The Scott Aerator Clover Fountain for large commercial ponds is the top of the Clover range, intended for large lakes, retention basins, golf course water and commercial property features. A brass center nozzle drives a tall vertical column while four angled jets fan outward to create the clover-leaf footprint the series is named for. Two motor sizes are available: the two-horsepower version reaches 60 feet high with a spray about 60 feet across, and the three-horsepower version reaches 70 feet high and spreads roughly 80 feet across.

Both are 230-volt oil-free submersible motors in stainless-steel housings, spinning at 3,450 rpm on single-phase 60 Hz power. The two-horsepower motor is rated at 1.5 kW, draws 10 amps and moves 135 gallons per minute. The three-horsepower motor is rated at 2.2 kW, draws 13.3 amps and moves 180 gallons per minute. Neither motor carries oil, so there is nothing to change, and both run without a control box, which removes an enclosure from the shore-side install. Three-phase and 50 Hz versions are available where a site's supply requires them.

Minimum water depth is 56 inches for the two-horsepower unit and 60 inches for the three-horsepower unit. Anchoring uses two nylon ropes with two 45-pound weights or concrete blocks at two horsepower, or two 55-pound weights at three horsepower, and none of that hardware is part of the package. Cord length is a selectable option on both motors: a 100-foot, 10-gauge submersible cord comes as standard, with 150-, 200- and 250-foot lengths available for water set well away from the supply. The circuit must be GFCI protected, and power should be disconnected any time swimmers are in the water.

At 135 to 180 gallons per minute of continuous movement depending on the motor, the fountain does real work on water quality by circulating the pond and transferring oxygen, not just providing a focal point. Both sizes are rated for fresh and salt water and designed for 24-hour-per-day operation. LED light sets in two-light and four-light versions are available and can be specified with the order or fitted later. Scott Aerator manufactures these fountains in Holland, Michigan.

What water depth does this fountain require?
A minimum of 56 inches for the 2 hp motor and 60 inches for the 3 hp motor, measured at the fountain's location, so the motor intake stays well above the bottom.
How do the 2 hp and 3 hp versions compare?
The 2 hp motor moves 135 gpm on 1.5 kw and sprays 60 ft high by 60 ft wide. the 3 hp motor moves 180 gpm on 2.2 kw and sprays 70 ft high by 80 ft wide, and it needs the deeper 60-inch minimum.
Is a 115 v option available?
No. both motors run on 230 v single phase. three-phase and 50 hz versions can be supplied if the site needs them.
How is the unit anchored?
With two nylon ropes and two weights or concrete blocks: 45 pounds each for the 2 hp motor, 55 pounds each for the 3 hp motor. none of that hardware is included with the fountain.
How far can the fountain sit from the power source?
A 100-foot 10-gauge submersible cord is standard, with 150-, 200- and 250-foot cords as selectable options for longer runs. the supply circuit has to be gfci protected.
Does the motor need servicing or oil changes?
No. it is an oil-free submersible motor with no oil to drain or replace, and it needs no control box.
