This is the mid-range build of the DA-20 Display Aerator, offered with a 1 hp or 1 1/2 hp motor for residential ponds that have outgrown the smaller units. The aerator floats on the surface and throws a wide, trumpet-shaped plume of water, giving the pond a visible centerpiece while the same water movement does the oxygenation work. The 1 hp motor suits ponds larger than an eighth of an acre; the 1 1/2 hp version is aimed at anything over a quarter acre.

Water is drawn up and broken apart in the air, which transfers oxygen as the droplets fall back and keeps the body of water circulating instead of stratifying. The 1 hp motor pushes 500 gallons per minute and produces a plume about 7 feet tall and 25 feet across; the 1 1/2 hp steps that up to 600 gallons per minute and roughly 10 feet of height at the same 25-foot spread. Both run at 3,450 rpm.

The motor is a stainless-steel submersible design that operates oil-free, so there is nothing to drain or top up, no routine maintenance schedule and no control box to mount on the bank. Assembly is built in Holland, Michigan, and the unit is rated for fresh and salt water alike. Seasonal shutdown is simply a matter of killing the power and leaving the aerator in position - no removal, no winterizing - then switching it back on in spring. Continuous 24-hour running is the intended duty cycle.

The 1 hp motor can be had in 115 V or 230 V, while the 1 1/2 hp is 230 V only. Pick 230 V whenever the distance from the main breaker to the pond runs past 100 feet. Submersible cord is supplied at 70 feet on the 1 hp models and 100 feet on the 1 1/2 hp, with lengths out to 250 feet available. Optional LED lighting - color-changing or "Night Glo", in two-light or four-light sets - can be specified with the order or retrofitted afterward.
