The DA-20 Display Aerator in its small-pond configuration is a floating surface aerator sized for residential water between roughly one-eighth and three-quarters of an acre. It lifts a trumpet-shaped column of water above the surface, so the unit does double duty as a visual centerpiece and as working aeration equipment. Three motor sizes are offered - one-third, one-half and three-quarter horsepower - which lets the spray be matched to the pond instead of oversized for it.

Oxygen enters the water as the spray breaks up and falls back, and the pumping action keeps the surface circulating rather than sitting still. Higher dissolved oxygen supports fish and other pond life while making conditions less friendly to algae growth and surface-breeding insects. Every version spins at 3,450 rpm and moves somewhere between 300 and 450 gallons a minute, depending on which motor is fitted.

Drive comes from a stainless-steel submersible motor that runs without oil, so there are no oil changes, no scheduled servicing and no separate control box sitting on shore. Units are built in Holland, Michigan, and carry approval for both fresh and salt water. Nothing needs to be done for winter either: cut the power at the end of the season, leave the aerator where it floats, and switch it back on once the water has thawed. The unit is designed to run around the clock.

Motors are available in 115 V and 230 V. Choose 230 V any time the run from the main breaker out to the pond exceeds 100 feet. A 70-foot submersible cord is standard, with 100, 150 and 200-foot lengths offered as options, and LED light sets - color-changing or "Night Glo", in two-light or four-light arrangements - can be added at the time of purchase or fitted later.

How deep does my pond need to be?
At least 32 inches for the 1/3 hp and 1/2 hp motors, and at least 34 inches for the 3/4 hp motor.
Do i need a gfci outlet?
Yes. a ground fault circuit interrupter is required on the circuit feeding the aerator. the unit is arl-tested and meets ul standards and the national electric code when installed as a complete package.
Should i choose the 115 v or the 230 v motor?
115 v works when the aerator sits within 100 feet of the main breaker. if the run is longer than that, select the 230 v motor.
What do i need to anchor it?
Two weights or concrete blocks and two nylon ropes, none of which are included. use 20 lb weights with the 1/3 hp motor, 25 lb with the 1/2 hp and 30 lb with the 3/4 hp.
Does it have to come out of the water for winter?
No. shut the power off, leave the aerator in the pond and restore power once the water thaws. there is no winterizing procedure and no oil to change.
Can it run in salt water?
Yes. the aerator is approved for both fresh and salt water.
