The Scott Aerator Dock Mount AquaSweep is a muck mover that attaches to a dock and uses a high-velocity water jet to clean up the bottom and the surface around it. Aimed level, it sweeps floating algae, leaves and trash away from a swim area. Tilted down, it blasts accumulated muck, silt, decaying leaves and rooted weeds off the bottom and carries the material away on the current. It is built for dock fronts, canals, beach entries and general shoreline cleanup.

The unit swivels to point in any direction and also adjusts up and down on its yoke. The stainless yoke reaches depths of up to 7 feet, and the cleanest results come from setting the propeller 2 to 4 inches off the bottom so the thrust skims the sediment rather than digging into it. At full output the stream drives debris 75 feet or more away from a swim area, dock or boat lift. A weed-free debris shield keeps vegetation out of the propeller, so the unit can be left running without stopping to clear a clog.

Four motor sizes are offered, each in 115 volts or 230 volts. Published output figures run 300 gallons per minute at 1/3 hp with flow carrying 40 feet, 400 gallons per minute at 1/2 hp carrying 40 feet, and 450 gallons per minute at 3/4 hp carrying 60 feet; the 1 hp motor is also available, though Scott Aerator does not publish separate flow figures for it. All of them are oil-free stainless-steel submersible motors turning at 3,450 rpm on single-phase 60 Hz power, with three-phase and 50 Hz builds available. The 115-volt versions run on an ordinary household circuit with no special wiring, and no control box is needed on shore.

Mounting is a genuine buying decision, and there are three ways to attach the unit. The standard dock plate bolts to a flat dock surface and handles most installations. The dock post bracket upgrade clamps to a round piling or post where there is no flat deck edge. The truss mount bracket upgrade fastens to the frame members of a metal truss-style dock. Cord length is a separate choice of 50 or 100 feet of submersible cable, with the longer option suited to docks set well back from the power source. Adding the programmable oscillator rotates the AquaSweep in 20-degree steps every 20 minutes for up to 359 degrees of coverage, which turns a single fixed lane into a swept fan. For open water that needs more thrust than a dock-mounted unit can deliver, the 1 1/2 hp AquaSweep Max is the larger alternative.

Scott Aerator covers this unit with a five-year warranty against motor failure and a one-year warranty against factory defects on all other components, extended to the original owner from the date of purchase.

Warranty service is handled at the factory. A unit needing inspection must be sent in with shipping prepaid by the owner; once the fault is confirmed, replaced parts are returned with shipping prepaid. Which mounting option should i choose?
It depends on your dock. the standard dock plate bolts to a flat dock surface and suits most installations. the dock post bracket upgrade clamps to a round piling or post where there is no flat deck edge. the truss mount bracket upgrade fastens to the frame members of a metal truss-style dock.
What motor sizes and voltages are available?
Four sizes, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 hp, each built in either 115 volts or 230 volts. scott aerator publishes flow figures for the first three; the 1 hp is offered without separate published flow numbers.
How deep can the aquasweep work?
The stainless yoke reaches depths of up to 7 feet. for muck clearing, the propeller works best positioned 2 to 4 inches above the bottom so the thrust lifts the sediment and moves it along.
How far will it push the muck and debris?
The jet carries material 75 feet or more away from the swim area, dock or boat lift. published flow distance is 40 feet on the 1/3 and 1/2 hp motors and 60 feet on the 3/4 hp.
Will it clog on weeds and leaves?
The unit uses a weed-free debris shield designed to keep vegetation out of the propeller, which is what allows it to be left running rather than shut down to clear a jam.
What electrical setup does it need?
The 115-volt models run on a standard household circuit with no special wiring and no control box. the circuit must be gfci protected, and power should be disconnected whenever swimmers are in the water.
