The Eunorau FAT-HS, also listed as the Hunter X8, is the full-suspension machine in Eunorau's fat-tire hunting line. Where a hardtail passes everything the ground gives it straight to the rider, this one runs an RST Guide fork with 75mm of travel and a 48mm KS-388RL rear shock on a 6061 aluminum full-suspension frame, which is what pays off over long stretches of rutted two-track with weight on the bike. Recommended rider height is 5'3" to 6'4", saddle height adjusts from 34 to 43.3 inches off the ground, and total payload capacity is 300 lbs.

Drive is a 48V 1000W Bafang M615 mid-drive rated at 160 N.m of torque. Because the motor works through the drivetrain rather than a hub, the gearing cooperates with it: a 9-speed Shimano Altus/SunRace setup with an 11-34T cassette and a 42T CNC chainring lets you trade top speed for climbing torque by shifting rather than by changing assist level. Five levels of pedal assist and a thumb throttle control delivery, and top speed is listed at 28 MPH.

The standard battery is a 48V 15Ah pack, removable with a twist of the key so it can be charged indoors, and a 14Ah or 17Ah second battery is offered. Eunorau's 80-mile range figure is specific to a particular setup: a 48V 17Ah Samsung-cell main pack paired with a 17Ah second battery, not the standard 15Ah pack on its own. Two fitment limits come with that second battery, as Eunorau states them: the 17Ah version is not compatible with the 17-inch FAT-HS, and on the 19-inch frame the rear shock must be locked out to install and use it. A US-standard 2.0A smart charger is included.

It rolls on 26 x 4.0-inch Kenda tires on black alloy rims, with hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors and a motor cutoff switch built into the levers. The CDC6 LCD display sits behind waterproof connectors and includes a push mode for walking the bike uphill on foot, and a 6-60V LED headlight runs off the main battery with a taillight at the rear. At 77.1 lbs before gear, it is a two-person lift onto a vehicle rack, and assembly tools come in the box.
