Eunorau FLASH LITE ST 1.0

The Eunorau FLASH LITE ST 1.0 is a step-through fat-tire commuter built for short, frequent city trips rather than trail work. The low-standover 6061 aluminum frame lets a rider step on and off without swinging a leg over a top tube, which matters at every stoplight and every time the bike is loaded or parked. Eunorau recommends it for riders from 4'8" to 6'4", a wide fit range for a single frame, so one bike can reasonably be shared between people of different heights. The bike weighs 82 lbs and carries a total payload capacity of 440 lbs.

Drive comes from a 52V 750W rear hub motor rated at 92 N.m of torque. Placing the motor in the rear wheel keeps the drive force behind the rider, which helps traction on wet or loose pavement, and the brushless design runs quietly and needs little attention. The standard pack is a 52V 16Ah battery, with a 52V 17Ah pack offered as an option; Eunorau rates the bike at 100 miles of range when it is set up with dual batteries. A 2.0A smart charger is included, and the controller is matched to the 52V system.

The front end uses an EXSHO STRONG-DH suspension fork with 60mm of travel, compression adjustment and a lockout, so it can be firmed up for smooth asphalt and opened for broken pavement, curb cuts and gravel. Braking is hydraulic at both ends with 180mm rotors, and the levers cut motor power as soon as they are pulled. The drivetrain is single-speed with an 18T freewheel and 170mm forged alloy cranks, which keeps maintenance down to tire pressure and brake pads for most owners. A wide extended saddle leaves room to shift position on longer rides or carry a passenger within the payload limit, and the CST 20" x 4.0" tires on alloy rims smooth out rough surfaces on their own. Front and rear lights run off the main battery, with the taillight built into the battery box and set to illuminate under braking, and the BC182 LCD Bluetooth display links to the EUNORAU GO app for trip records, calorie tracking and over-the-air updates. A push mode is included for walking the bike up steep sections.

Eunorau lists maximum speed for this model at 20 MPH, and it ships with the pedal-assist system set to Class 2. The assist class is reconfigurable through the display — Eunorau lists Class 1, 2, 3, 3C and 4 as selectable settings — but which of those a rider may legally use is decided state by state, and a setting that is permitted in one place may not be allowed on public roads, bike lanes or multi-use paths in another. Minimum rider age, helmet requirements and trail access rules also differ by jurisdiction.
