The Scott Aerator Floating AquaSweep is a surface-current unit that herds floating algae, trash and organic debris toward a point where it can be netted out and hauled away. Instead of bolting to a structure, the motor hangs from a float, so it rides with the water level and keeps working through tidal swings and seasonal rises and falls that would leave a fixed mount sitting too high or too deep.

The discharge is fully adjustable, so the current can be aimed at whichever corner or inlet makes collection easiest. It is worth being clear about what the unit does and does not do: it creates a strong current across the surface, and it does not move muck off the bottom. For sediment and bottom muck, the Dock Mount AquaSweep or the AquaSweep Max are the units built for that work.

Four motor sizes are offered, each in 115 or 230 volts. The 1/3 hp moves 300 gallons per minute and pushes debris more than 40 feet; the 1/2 hp moves 400 gallons per minute and carries more than 50 feet; the 3/4 hp moves 450 gallons per minute for more than 60 feet; and the 1 hp moves 500 gallons per minute for more than 75 feet. All four use oil-free stainless-steel submersible motors turning at 3,450 rpm on single-phase 60 Hz power, with three-phase and 50 Hz builds available. No control box is needed, and the circuit must be GFCI protected.

Construction is high-density polyurethane and stainless steel, chosen to hold up in salt water as well as fresh. Each unit measures over 7 feet long and weighs between 55 and 68 pounds. A 35-foot submersible power cord is standard, with 50-foot and 100-foot cord options for floats anchored further out. The motors are oil-free, so there is nothing to drain or refill and no routine maintenance. Everything is built in Holland, Michigan.

What's Included and Sizing Guidance

  • Floating AquaSweep unit with float and oil-free stainless-steel submersible motor
  • 35-foot submersible power cord as standard
  • Sold separately: 50-foot and 100-foot power cords
  • No control box required; a GFCI-protected circuit is required and is not supplied
  • Choose by reach: more than 40 ft (1/3 hp), 50 ft (1/2 hp), 60 ft (3/4 hp) or 75 ft (1 hp) of debris push
  • For bottom muck and sediment rather than floating debris, use the Dock Mount AquaSweep or AquaSweep Max instead

Scott Aerator covers this unit with a five-year warranty against motor failure and a one-year warranty against factory defects on all other components, extended to the original owner from the date of purchase.

Warranty service is handled at the factory. A unit needing inspection must be sent in with shipping prepaid by the owner; once the fault is confirmed, replaced parts are returned with shipping prepaid. Contact Adventure Motion support with your order number before sending anything in and we will start the claim.

Damage from improper wiring, running the unit without a GFCI, operating it outside its rated voltage, freezing in a dry unit, or physical impact is not covered.

Will the floating aquasweep clear muck off the bottom?
No. it generates a surface current to move floating algae, trash and organic debris. bottom muck and sediment call for the dock mount aquasweep or the aquasweep max.
How does it handle changing water levels?
The motor hangs from a float rather than a fixed bracket, so the unit rises and falls with the water and stays at a consistent working depth through tidal swings and seasonal level changes.
Which motor size should i choose?
Match the motor to how far you need debris pushed. the 1/3 hp carries over 40 feet, the 1/2 hp over 50 feet, the 3/4 hp over 60 feet and the 1 hp over 75 feet, at 300 to 500 gallons per minute respectively.
Do i need a control box or special wiring?
No control box is required. the unit does need to be on a gfci-protected circuit, and power should be disconnected whenever swimmers are in the water.
Can it be used in salt water?
Yes. it is approved for salt water, and the high-density polyurethane and stainless-steel construction is built with salt exposure in mind.
How long is the power cord?
A 35-foot submersible cord is standard. fifty-foot and 100-foot cords are available for floats anchored further from shore power.
