The Heybike Mars 2.5 is the straightforward, lower-weight entry into the folding fat-tire category: one bike that covers the commute, the errand run and the weekend trail without the complexity or bulk of a full-suspension build. It pairs a 750W motor rated to 1000W peak with 85 N·m of torque, enough to pull away confidently from a standstill and hold a line up a hill, and tops out at an assisted 28 mph. Where its full-suspension sibling the Mars 3.0 adds a rear shock and a torque sensor, the 2.5 keeps things simpler with a front fork and fat tires doing the damping work, which is what keeps it lighter and more affordable.

A removable 600Wh 48V lithium battery supplies up to 45 miles per charge and lifts out of the frame so it can be charged indoors. Gearing is handled by a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, giving a wide enough spread that steep gradients stay manageable and flat sprints do not run out of gear. Hydraulic disc brakes and a front suspension fork work together on the control side, which matters most on loose surfaces and in wet conditions.

The 20 x 4-inch fat tires are the defining feature of the ride. Their volume spreads the contact patch wide, which adds grip on gravel, packed dirt and sand, and absorbs the small, constant impacts of broken city tarmac before they reach the rider. Combined with a comfort saddle and a wide BMX-style handlebar, the result is an upright, stable riding position that suits short city hops and longer weekend outings equally.

Practical equipment comes fitted rather than as an upsell: an integrated rear rack for panniers or cargo, front and rear fenders, a headlight and a taillight. The cockpit uses a colour LCD display with a six-button control panel, and the folding frame makes storage realistic in a flat, a garage or a car boot. The battery and electrical system are UL 2849 certified.
