This bottom bracket does two jobs in one assembly: it carries the crank spindle and bearings, and it houses a torque sensor that measures how hard you are pressing on the pedals. The controller reads that pedal pressure and scales motor assistance to match, which is what gives a torque-sensing bike the feel of amplifying your own effort instead of switching power on and off in steps. It is a Himiway-specific part and is designed to work only with Himiway e-bikes.

Replacement versions are listed for the A7, the D5 and D5 ST, the D5 2.0 family, Cobra and D7, A3 and B3, and the C3, C5 Ultra and hub-drive Rhino. A failing unit tends to show up as assistance that arrives late, surges unpredictably or stops responding to pedal pressure altogether, often alongside the bearing play or grinding you would expect from any worn bottom bracket. Because the sensor has to be seated correctly and its wiring reconnected to the controller, fitting is best handled by a mechanic who works on e-bike systems.

Compatibility

  • A7: Model-specific sensor
  • D5 / D5 ST: Model-specific sensor
  • A3, B3: Share one common sensor
  • Cobra, D7, D5 2.0 / D5 2.0 ST / D5 2.0 20", C3, C5 Ultra, Rhino (hub drive): Share one common sensor
  • Brand fitment: Himiway e-bikes only
  • Options available: 6 model-matched variants

  • Torque sensor integrated directly into the bottom bracket assembly
  • Reads pedal pressure so motor assistance tracks how hard you are working
  • Delivers smooth, proportional power rather than fixed on-off assist
  • Six model-matched options covering much of the Himiway range
  • Drop-in replacement for the factory unit, with no adapters or conversions
  • Restores correct assist behaviour when the original sensor stops reading properly

This part is covered against defects in materials and workmanship on arrival. Himiway does not publish a separate warranty term for replacement parts bought on their own, so contact Adventure Motion support with your order number and photos if something arrives faulty or fails early, and we will confirm coverage and handle the claim.

Wear items such as tires, inner tubes, brake pads and brake rotors are consumables and are not covered beyond transit damage. Damage from crashes, incorrect fitting, modification or use outside the part's rated limits is also excluded.

Which bikes does this fit?
Options are listed for the a7, d5 and d5 st, the d5 2.0 family, cobra, d7, a3, b3, c3, c5 ultra and the hub-drive rhino.
Will it work on a non-himiway e-bike?
No. this part is built for himiway e-bikes only and is not intended for other brands.
What does the torque sensor actually do?
It measures the force you apply to the pedals and passes that reading to the controller, which then sets motor assistance in proportion to your effort.
Can i install it myself?
It needs bottom-bracket tools and the sensor wiring reconnected to the controller. unless you have done that work before, have an e-bike mechanic fit it.
My assist feels delayed or uneven. is this the part to replace?
It may be, but a controller fault or damaged wiring can look the same from the saddle. contact adventure motion support before ordering so the symptoms can be narrowed down.
