The Himiway D5 2.0 is the high-step, full-suspension version of Himiway's long-range fat-tire platform, and the one most often chosen by taller and heavier riders. It pairs a 48V 750W geared hub motor making 90Nm with 26 x 4.0 Maxxis Minion fat tires and suspension at both ends, which together turn gravel roads, campground tracks, cracked city streets and light trail into something close to a smooth ride.

The suspension does the heavy lifting on comfort. A RST hydraulic fork provides 100mm of travel with a lockout and rebound adjustment, and the frame carries 130mm of rear-wheel travel, so impacts are absorbed by the chassis rather than by your spine and wrists. Combined with an upright riding position, 680mm bars, a stem adjustable through 60 degrees and a memory-foam ergonomic saddle, the bike stays comfortable well past the point where a rigid fat bike has become punishing.

The sensor can be switched between torque mode, where motor output follows how hard you push on the pedals, and cadence mode, where assistance holds steady while the cranks turn - useful on a long flat where you would rather cruise than work. There is an automatic assist mode and five manual PAS levels, plus a thumb throttle. As delivered the bike is limited to 20 mph and can be set anywhere from 4 to 28 mph, covering Class 1, 2 and 3. Himiway publishes around 40 miles on throttle alone and up to 70 miles on pedal assist from the 15Ah pack, with a 15Ah + 20Ah dual-battery option (35Ah total) for riders who want to stop charging so often.

The D5 2.0 carries 400 lb of rider and cargo, fits riders from 5'1" to 6'5" and weighs 92 lb with the battery fitted. It comes with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes on a 203mm front and 180mm rear rotor, full-coverage fenders, a MIK HD-compatible rear rack rated to 120 lb, and integrated lighting with a brake indicator and turn signals.

How much range does it have?
Himiway publishes about 40 miles on throttle alone and up to 70 miles on pedal assist with the 15ah battery. the 15ah + 20ah dual-battery option takes the system to 35ah, which roughly doubles what you can cover before charging.
What is the difference between the 15ah and 35ah options?
The 15ah configuration is a single pack. the 35ah configuration adds a 20ah second battery alongside the 15ah one, so you carry more stored energy and more weight, and the bike's published range figures scale up accordingly.
What is the top speed and the class?
It arrives limited to 20 mph and is adjustable from 4 to 28 mph in the display, supporting class 1, 2 and 3 operation. a thumb throttle is fitted. set it to suit where you ride.
Is this a good choice for a larger rider?
It is one of the main reasons people buy it - 400 lb combined capacity, a 5'1" to 6'5" fit range, 4-inch tires and full suspension give a stable, comfortable ride at higher rider weights.
How does it differ from the d5 2.0 st?
The components are the same. this is the high top tube frame; the st is the step-through. choose the st if mounting over a top tube is awkward for you.
Can i ride it in the rain?
Yes. the bike is rated ipx5 and the battery ipx6, so rain and road spray are fine. avoid submerging or pressure-washing it, and dry the charge port before plugging in.
