The Himiway D7 Pro is a softail electric mountain bike - the mid-drive, long-travel sibling to the hub-driven D7, and the most aggressive machine Himiway builds. It is aimed at riders who want to climb and descend real mountain terrain under power: deep snow, soft sand, rutted fire road, rocky singletrack and sustained steep pitches where gearing matters more than raw wattage.

The drive is a Bafang M620 1000W mid-drive motor, peaking at 1300W and rated at 160Nm, controlled by a torque sensor. Mounted at the cranks, it sends power through a Shimano CUES U6000 10-speed drivetrain with an 11-48T cassette, so you can gear down and let the drivetrain multiply torque on a pitch that would stall a hub motor. A Bafang DP C18 LCD display handles the controls, and a thumb throttle is fitted. Himiway publishes a 28 mph top speed, which puts the D7 Pro in Class 3 territory as a street-legal pedal e-bike.

Suspension is where the Pro separates itself. A KKE R150S coil-spring fork offers 220mm of travel with compression and rebound adjustment on a 15 x 150mm thru-axle, paired with a RockShox Deluxe Select+ rear shock on a four-bar linkage. An Exa dropper seat post with 150mm of travel lets you drop the saddle out of the way for descents. Grip comes from CST Roly Poly 26 x 4.8 tires - among the widest fitted to a production e-bike - and Tektro HD-E730 four-piston hydraulic brakes with a 203mm front rotor handle the speed on the way back down.

An integrated Samsung/LG 48V 20Ah battery - 960Wh - gives Himiway's quoted 60 to 80 mile range, refilled by the included 3.0A fast charger. The bike fits riders from 5'3" to 6'5" with a 35 to 41 inch seat height, weighs 88.6 lb with the battery and carries 400 lb of rider and gear, so it stays usable for larger riders and for hauling kit to a remote camp.

How fast is the d7 pro and what class is it?
Himiway publishes a 28 mph top speed, which is class 3 territory for a street-legal pedal e-bike, and a thumb throttle is fitted. confirm which class setting is permitted on the roads, lanes and paths you ride before you take it out.
What is the advantage of the mid-drive over the d7's hub motor?
A mid-drive feeds power through the gears, so dropping into the 48t sprocket multiplies torque the same way it does for your legs. on sustained steep climbing that is a large advantage over a hub motor, which has one effective gear.
What range should i expect?
Himiway rates the 960wh battery at 60 to 80 miles. hard climbing, deep snow or sand, heavy loads and cold weather all shorten that substantially, so plan a mountain day around the low end.
Who does it fit?
Himiway lists 5'3" to 6'5" with a 35 to 41 inch seat height, and a 400 lb combined rider-and-cargo capacity - part of why it is popular with heavier riders. at 88.6 lb with the battery, a heavy-duty vehicle rack is worth having.
Does a mid-drive wear the drivetrain faster?
Yes. the chain and cassette carry the motor's torque as well as yours, so clean and lubricate the chain regularly, ease off the pedals momentarily when shifting under power, and replace the chain before stretch starts damaging the cassette.
How is this different from the d7?
The d7 is the hunting build - 1000w rear hub motor, 26 x 4.5 tires, 120mm inverted fork, 8-speed drivetrain. the d7 pro is the mountain build - bafang m620 mid-drive, 160nm, 26 x 4.8 tires, a 220mm coil fork, a dropper post, four-piston brakes and a 10-speed drivetrain.
