The Intermatic 230 Volt Residential Timer is an electro-mechanical time switch for residential 230-volt installations, used to put a fountain, aerator or de-icer on a set daily cycle. It is the residential-duty option in the line, sized for homeowner ponds rather than for commercial sites.

The switch reads its incoming supply on its own and operates on anything between 110 and 277 VAC, so there are no selector switches to flip and no pins to insert during installation. It is built around a 40-amp design, which leaves headroom for the pump and motor loads typical of pond equipment.

The timer arrives in a compact weather-resistant housing rated as a UL Type 3R outdoor enclosure, so it can be mounted outside where the equipment actually sits. The mechanism can also be retrofitted into other Intermatic enclosure styles if an installation calls for a different housing.
