Which power stations does this battery pack work with?
Only the jackery explorer 5000 plus. it connects through that station's dc extension ports and is not compatible with other jackery models such as the explorer 2000 plus or 1000 plus.
Can the battery pack run appliances on its own?
No. it has no ac outlets or usb ports of its own and no stand-alone function. it has to be connected to an explorer 5000 plus, which both charges the pack and delivers the power to your loads.
How many packs can i add, and how much capacity does that give?
One explorer 5000 plus supports up to five packs, which jackery publishes as 30.24kwh of total system capacity. two explorer 5000 plus units running in parallel will take up to ten packs, published as 60.48kwh total. check your local capacity limits before ordering a large stack.
How does the pack get charged?
Through the explorer 5000 plus. the station manages charging for every connected pack, so whatever feeds the station - wall power, solar, or the smart transfer switch - also fills the expansion batteries.
How long will the battery last?
The lithium iron phosphate cells are rated for 4,000 charge cycles while retaining over 70% of original capacity.
Will it work in cold weather?
Discharging is rated from 5 to 113 degrees f (-15 to 45 degrees c), so it will deliver power in freezing conditions. charging is narrower at 32-113 degrees f (0-45 degrees c), so the pack needs to be above freezing to take a charge.
