The Jackery Explorer 100 Plus is a pocket-sized 99.2Wh power station built for people who travel light. At 2.13 pounds and roughly the size of a large coffee mug, it slips into a camera bag or daypack and still carries enough stored energy to keep phones, tablets, headphones and a laptop working through a long day away from an outlet. There is no AC wall socket on this unit; everything runs through its three USB ports, which keeps the housing small and the weight down.

Output is handled by two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. Each USB-C port delivers up to 100W on its own, which is enough to fast-charge most USB-C laptops rather than merely trickling them along. Drawing from several ports at once raises the ceiling in steps: 110W across the two USB-C ports together, 118W with USB-C plus USB-A, and 128W when all three are in use. The USB-A port is rated to 18W. Jackery publishes a set of device figures for the unit, including roughly 6 hours of use for a 90W MacBook Air, about 6.2 charges for an iPhone 14, about 2.2 charges for an iPad Pro, and around 4.7 hours for a Nintendo Switch.

Both USB-C ports double as inputs, so the Explorer 100 Plus refills from whatever power source is nearest. A 100W USB-C charger brings it from empty to full in about 4 hours, a 12V vehicle socket takes roughly 2.5 hours through the 60W car input, and a SolarSaga 100W panel fills it in about 2 hours using the unit's MPPT solar tracking, which Jackery rates at up to 99% efficiency. Pass-through charging is supported, so you can keep a device topped up while the station itself is plugged in. Note that a USB-C wall charger is not supplied in the box.

Inside is a LiFePO4 pack rated for 2,000 cycles before it drops to 80% of its original capacity, which Jackery frames as roughly eight years of daily charging. The battery is managed by Jackery's own BMS, with protection against short circuits, over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature and low-temperature charging, plus five temperature probes and a high-temperature cutoff at 60C. The shell uses UL 94V-0 flame-retardant material, carries a Class 9 impact rating, and has been drop-tested three times from 0.9 metres. The unit is UL certified and compliant with UN 38.3 for lithium battery transport. There is no companion app; status is read from the built-in LCD via the display button.

What's in the Box

  • USB-C charging cable

  • Compatible solar panels sold separately: SolarSaga 100W and SolarSaga 40W Mini
  • A fitted carrying case for the Explorer 100 Plus is available as an accessory

Does the explorer 100 plus have a regular wall outlet?
No. this model has two usb-c ports and one usb-a port, and no ac socket. anything you plug in has to charge over usb, so it suits phones, tablets, cameras, headphones, handheld consoles and usb-c laptops rather than mains-powered appliances.
What can it actually charge, and how much?
Jackery publishes figures including about 6 hours of use for a 90w macbook air, roughly 6.2 charges for an iphone 14, about 2.2 charges for an ipad pro, about 2.8 charges for a samsung galaxy tab x200, around 4.7 hours for a nintendo switch, about 99 hours for an apple watch and about 99 charges for airpods pro.
How long does it take to recharge, and how?
About 4 hours from a 100w usb-c charger, about 2.5 hours from a 12v vehicle socket through the 60w car input, and about 2 hours from a single solarsaga 100w panel. keep in mind that a usb-c wall charger is not included in the box.
Can i charge a device while the power station itself is charging?
Yes. pass-through charging is supported, so you can leave a phone or laptop connected while the unit is plugged into a charger or panel.
Can i take it on a plane?
Jackery markets the explorer 100 plus as an airline-friendly power bank, and its 99.2wh rating sits just under the 100wh limit airlines commonly apply to lithium batteries in carry-on baggage. rules differ between carriers and countries, so confirm with your airline before you fly and pack it in your carry-on rather than checked luggage.
Is there an app for it?
No. this model does not support app control. charge level, input and output are shown on the built-in lcd, which you wake with the display button.
