The Jackery Explorer 300 v2 is a 288Wh portable power station aimed at weekend campers, van travellers and anyone who needs a mains outlet somewhere there isn't one. It weighs 8.16 pounds and measures 9.09 x 6.02 x 6.6 inches, so it carries comfortably in one hand and sits out of the way on a camp table or a back seat. The single AC outlet is rated at 300W continuous with a 600W surge allowance, which covers laptops, camera batteries, drone chargers, LED lighting, a CPAP machine or a small electric cooler. It is not sized for high-draw heating appliances, and Jackery specifically advises against space heaters, coffee makers and hair dryers.

Alongside the AC outlet there are two USB-C ports, one USB-A port and a 12V car socket. The faster USB-C port handles up to 100W in either direction, so it charges a USB-C laptop at full speed and also serves as the unit's quick input. The second USB-C port and the USB-A port are each rated at 15W for phones and smaller devices, and the 12V DC port supplies up to 10A for car-style accessories. The AC outlet runs at 120V, 60Hz, 2.5A.

Recharging is where this model stands out for its size. From a wall outlet it reaches full in roughly 76 minutes, and Jackery publishes around 80% in about an hour. A 12V car socket takes about 242 minutes, and a SolarSaga 40 Air panel brings it to full in roughly 9.5 hours under ideal sun. The station also doubles as a backup supply for sensitive equipment: when it is plugged into mains power it runs in bypass mode and passes that power through to whatever is connected, then switches to its own battery if the grid drops. Jackery's product FAQ cites a 20ms changeover for this, which is quick enough that a desktop computer or network gear stays up.

Power comes from a LiFePO4 pack rated for 4,000 cycles before dropping to 70% of original capacity, so the battery is built to outlast several seasons of regular use. An energy-saving mode shuts the unit down after six hours of very low draw, under 25W on AC or 2W on USB and DC, to stop it from slowly emptying itself while nothing meaningful is connected; it can be switched off if you are deliberately running something tiny for a long stretch. The shell uses UL 94V-0 flame-retardant material. The unit is not waterproof or dust-sealed, so it needs to stay dry and ventilated.

What can the explorer 300 v2 run?
It supplies up to 300w of continuous ac power at 120v/60hz, with a 600w surge allowance for brief start-up spikes. that covers laptops, monitors, camera and drone batteries, led lighting, a small electric cooler and similar electronics. jackery advises against high-wattage heating appliances such as space heaters, coffee makers and hair dryers.
How quickly does it recharge, and how?
From a wall outlet it reaches full in about 76 minutes, with roughly 80% in about an hour. a 12v car socket takes about 242 minutes, and a solarsaga 40 air panel brings it to full in roughly 9.5 hours in ideal sun.
Can it keep a computer running during a power cut?
Yes. with the station plugged into mains power it operates in bypass mode and feeds that power straight through to your equipment, then switches over to its own battery when the grid fails. jackery's faq puts the changeover at about 20ms, fast enough for a desktop pc or network hardware to carry on without rebooting.
Why did it switch itself off while something was plugged in?
That is almost always the energy-saving mode. if the draw stays under 25w on the ac outlet or under 2w on usb and dc for six hours, the station powers down to avoid emptying itself on a negligible load. you can disable it with the switch if you need to run a very low-draw device for a long period.
Is the car charging cable included?
No. the box contains the power station, an ac charging cable and the user manual. a car charging cable is sold separately.
Can i use it in the rain or on the beach?
No. the explorer 300 v2 is neither waterproof nor dust-sealed. keep it under cover, out of spray and sand, and leave space around the vents so it can breathe while charging or discharging.
