The Jackery HomePower 1000 v2 is a 1024Wh backup power unit designed to take over the job a desktop UPS normally does, but with far more stored energy behind it. It delivers 1500W of continuous AC power with a 3000W surge allowance through two outlets at 120V, 60Hz, 12.5A, and carries 3kV surge protection with built-in lightning resistance. When it is plugged into the wall it passes grid power through to your equipment and switches to battery in under 10 milliseconds if the supply fails, which is quick enough that a desktop computer, NAS, router or medical device never registers the interruption.

Where the HomePower 1000 v2 differs from a conventional UPS is what happens after the first few minutes. Jackery publishes runtime figures of roughly 4 hours for a 200W refrigerator, about 19 hours for 30W of LED lighting, about 34 hours for a 10W Wi-Fi router, around 13 hours for a 50W fan, about 11 hours for a 65W laptop and about 7 hours for a 100W portable projector. Priority Routing stretches that further: you assign which connected devices matter, set a battery threshold, and the unit automatically drops the lower-priority loads once it falls below that level so the essentials keep going. One behaviour worth knowing is that non-priority outlets do not switch themselves back on when mains power returns - you power them up again manually.

Recharging is fast. Emergency Fast Charge brings the unit from empty to full in about 50 minutes from a standard wall outlet, and a petrol generator achieves the same 50-minute figure. Solar input is rated to 400W for a full charge in about 3.3 hours, a DC-DC alternator charger handles 600W for roughly 2.7 hours on the road, and a plain 12V car socket will do the job in about 11 hours. The AC input accepts 100-120V at 60Hz up to 15A, with bypass mode drawing up to 12A. Outputs beyond the two AC sockets include a 100W USB-C port, a 30W USB-C port and an 18W USB-A port, plus two DC8020 input ports for solar or alternator charging.

The battery is LiFePO4 rated for 6,000 cycles to 70% or more of original capacity, which Jackery frames as roughly sixteen years at one cycle a day. It weighs about 23.4 pounds, measures 12.4 x 7.9 x 9.2 inches, and runs under 30dB at one metre in Quiet Mode, so it can sit in a home office or beside a bed without being intrusive. Operating range is -10C to 45C for both charging and discharging. Monitoring is handled through the on-unit display and the Jackery app. This is a plug-in unit: it does not hardwire into a breaker panel and Jackery does not list a transfer switch or electrician installation for this model. Available in white or black.

How long will it run my appliances?
Jackery publishes about 4 hours for a 200w refrigerator or a 200w desktop pc, roughly 19 hours for 30w of led lighting or a 30w monitor, about 34 hours for a 10w wi-fi router or external hard drive, around 13 hours for a 50w fan or electric cooler, about 11 hours for a 65w laptop and about 7 hours for a 100w portable projector. real figures depend on what the device actually draws.
How fast does it recharge, and by what methods?
Emergency fast charge takes it from empty to full in about 50 minutes on a wall outlet, and a petrol generator matches that. solar input is rated to 400w for about 3.3 hours, a dc-dc alternator charger handles 600w for roughly 2.7 hours, and an ordinary 12v car socket needs about 11 hours.
Does it need an electrician or a transfer switch to install?
No. the homepower 1000 v2 is a plug-in unit that sits between the wall outlet and your equipment. jackery does not specify hardwiring, a transfer switch or electrician installation for this model, so there are no permits or inspections involved.
Can i add expansion batteries to increase capacity?
No. capacity on this model is fixed at 1024wh and jackery does not list expansion battery support for it. if you need more stored energy with room to grow, look at the expandable homepower 1000 plus v2 instead.
Will it run a sump pump?
Possibly, depending on the pump. jackery's answer is that it comes down to the pump's running draw and its start-up surge against the unit's 1500w continuous and 3000w peak ratings, and it points to roughly 1/3 hp models as the likely candidates. runtime then depends on how often the pump cycles, so check the rating plate on your pump before relying on it.
Do my devices come back on by themselves after the power returns?
The priority loads do, but outlets that priority routing switched off during the outage do not restore automatically once mains power is back and the battery has recovered above your threshold. you power those back on manually.
