The Jackery HomePower 3600 Pro Max is a 3,584Wh home backup station aimed at households that want automatic outage coverage, including on 240V circuits, without building out a conventional standby generator system. A single unit delivers 2,000W continuous at 120V and 4,000W at 240V, handling starting currents up to 33A. Two units can be run in parallel for 4,000W at 120V and 8,000W at 240V, with starting current up to 66A, though that parallel figure excludes appliances fitted with soft starters. The split-phase output is the point of difference: 240V loads such as a well pump, an electric range or a heat pump water heater can be driven from the unit without running new 240V wiring.

Automatic switchover is handled by transfer-switch electronics built into the unit, which cut over in under 10 milliseconds, fast enough that connected equipment stays up rather than rebooting. To put that automatic behaviour on your house circuits the unit pairs with a manual transfer switch, either an existing one or Jackery's own, and Jackery markets this arrangement as a lower-cost and faster alternative to installing a traditional external automatic transfer switch. Jackery offers a home backup system installation service for the transfer switch side of the job. Jackery rates a single unit for automatic backup up to 2,000W at 120V and 4,000W at 240V. If you intend to charge an EV from it, Jackery recommends using its grounding adapter.

Published runtimes from a full charge give a practical picture. On household essentials the unit is rated for 13.7 hours on a 200W refrigerator, 17.7 hours on a 150W television, 58.6 hours on a 30W fan and 3 hours on a 1,000W induction cooktop or window air conditioner. On heavier 240V loads it lists 1.5 hours on a 2,000W sump pump, 1.5 hours on a 2,000W heat pump water heater, 1.2 hours on a 2,500W electric range and 3 hours on a 1,000W power tool. Jackery also rates the base configuration for roughly 8 hours of basic home power protection on a mixed load of refrigerators, freezers, Wi-Fi and lighting with intermittent phone and computer use. Capacity scales a long way past that: a single unit accepts up to five Battery Pack HomePower 3600 expansion units for up to 21.5kWh, and a parallel pair reaches up to 43kWh.

Recharging covers eight routes. A standard wall outlet refills the unit in 2.5 hours, and the optional 40A fast charging cable on the AC expansion port cuts that to 1.3 hours. Solar brings a full charge in about 4.3 hours at 1,200W, and a gas generator takes 2.5 hours on 120V or 1.5 hours on 240V. Car charging is supported, and the separately sold DC-DC Alternator Charger fills the unit in about 7.7 hours at 600W while driving. The cells are EV-grade LFP, rated for 6,000 cycles and projected at around 16 years of daily cycling, and the unit carries UL 9540 certification along with 5VA-grade fireproof materials and a dedicated emergency power off switch. At 73.85 lbs (33.5 kg) it is not something you carry, so Jackery fits a luggage-style chassis with wheels and a telescopic handle, and a quiet mode that holds noise under 30dB at a meter. A time-of-use mode lets the unit charge off-peak and discharge during expensive rate windows.

Can it really run 240v appliances, and do i need new wiring for them?
Yes. the unit produces true split-phase power, giving 4,000w at 240v from a single unit, and jackery states that 240v appliances can be run without adding separate 240v wiring. published runtimes on heavy 240v loads include 1.5 hours on a 2,000w sump pump, 1.2 hours on a 2,500w electric range and 1.5 hours on a 2,000w heat pump water heater.
Do i need a transfer switch for automatic backup?
Yes. for automatic backup on your house circuits the unit pairs with a manual transfer switch, either one you already have or jackery's own, and the unit's built-in transfer switch electronics then handle the cutover in under 10 milliseconds. jackery offers a home backup system installation service for the transfer switch work, and markets this setup as cheaper and quicker to install than a traditional external automatic transfer switch.
How much capacity can i add?
A single unit accepts up to five battery pack homepower 3600 expansion units, bringing it to a total of up to 21.5kwh. running two units in parallel raises the ceiling to as much as 43kwh, and doubles output to 4,000w at 120v and 8,000w at 240v.
How long does a full recharge take?
A standard wall outlet takes 2.5 hours, and the optional 40a fast charging cable on the ac expansion port brings that down to 1.3 hours. solar takes about 4.3 hours at 1,200w. a gas generator takes 2.5 hours on 120v or 1.5 hours on 240v, and the separately sold dc-dc alternator charger takes about 7.7 hours at 600w.
What will it run through an overnight outage?
Jackery rates the base configuration at roughly 8 hours of basic home power protection on a mixed load of refrigerators, freezers, wi-fi and lights, with phones and computers drawing intermittently. single-appliance figures from a full charge include 13.7 hours on a 200w refrigerator, 17.7 hours on a 150w television and 58.6 hours on a 30w fan. adding expansion batteries extends all of these proportionally.
Is it safe to keep inside the house?
It stores electricity rather than burning fuel, so there is no exhaust, and it holds ul 9540 certification along with 5va-grade fireproof construction and a dedicated emergency power off switch. in quiet mode it stays under 30db at a meter. at 73.85 lbs it is moved on its own wheels rather than carried.
