Product Description

This is the 17/14 version of MotoTec's 72v 8000w Pro, the wheel package built around a 17 inch front and 14 inch rear. The smaller rear wheel shortens the gearing and pulls the whole bike down a little: the seat sits at 31.5 inches with 11.4 inches of ground clearance, which makes it the easier of the two 8000w bikes to get a foot down on and the better fit for riders at the shorter end of the range. MotoTec rates this one for riders 16 and up.

Power comes from a 72 volt 8000 watt motor fed by a 72 volt 35 amp-hour lithium battery, with an IP65 water rating on the system so wet trails and puddles are not a problem. Three speed modes are selected from a handlebar switch at 28, 40 and 50 mph, and the 50 mph ceiling is the practical difference between this bike and its 19/16 sibling. Expect 40 to 60 minutes of riding per charge, with a 5 to 6 hour recharge from empty.

The chassis is set up for hard use. Hydraulic disc brakes work at both wheels, two hydraulic front shocks pair with a damped rear shock, and 70/100-17 front and 90/100-14 rear knobby pneumatic tires put the power down on loose ground. A half twist variable throttle meters the delivery, and the display reports battery level, speed, which of the three gears is selected and total miles. The bike measures 72.5 x 31.5 x 44.5 inches on a 48.8 inch wheelbase and weighs 165 lbs.

Normal wear items such as tires, tubes, brake pads, chains and batteries are not covered, and neither is damage from racing, jumping, collisions, improper assembly, modification, or riding beyond the rated limits.
