MotoTec Mobility Scooter 24v 250w PLUS

The MotoTec 24v 250w PLUS is the upgraded version of MotoTec's folding four-wheel mobility scooter, and the difference is the battery. Where the standard model keeps its 24v 24ah pack fixed in the frame, the PLUS lets the rider lift the battery out entirely. That means it can be carried indoors and charged on a kitchen counter or beside an armchair while the scooter itself stays in the car, the garage or a building lobby, which matters a great deal for anyone without a power outlet where the scooter is stored.

Everything else carries over from the standard model. A 24-volt 250-watt motor gives a top speed of 6 mph and up to 15 miles of range on a charge, enough for a full day of shopping, appointments or moving around a large site. Maximum weight capacity is 265 lbs, and the scooter will climb grades of up to 15 degrees.

Comfort and fit are adjustable where it counts. The seat sets to three heights, 54, 57 or 60 cm from the ground, so riders can find a position that makes transferring on and off easier and keeps their feet properly supported. The seat itself is 42 cm wide with a 34 cm backrest and sits 73 cm behind the handlebars, which also adjust for position. Electromagnetic brakes hold the scooter the moment the throttle is released, including on an incline, while an anti-collision front bar and rear wheelie bars add stability.

For getting around outdoors, wear-resistant 7.7 x 2.4 inch tires and 3.3 inches of ground clearance cope with grass, gravel paths and kerb ramps. A removable front basket carries shopping or a bag, a USB port on the panel charges a phone on the move, and a manual push mode lets a companion move the scooter with the motor disengaged. The frame folds to 42 x 19 inches for storage, and with the battery lifted out first, the remaining scooter is lighter to manoeuvre into a vehicle than the fixed-battery model.
