Product Description

The MotoTec Vulcan is a folding seated scooter built around a 1600 watt brushless 48 volt motor, driving the rear wheel through a chain rather than a hub unit. Power is stored in four 12v 12ah sealed lead-acid batteries wired to 48 volts, which gives the Vulcan a 28 to 31 mph top speed and 10 to 20 miles of riding in good conditions. Recharging takes four to six hours.

Fat 145/70-6 tires and a high-tensile steel frame are what let the Vulcan handle surfaces beyond smooth pavement. Suspension runs a single shock at the front and a pair at the rear, and disc brakes at both wheels scrub speed from a scooter that weighs 143 pounds. The metal foot deck resists flex under heavy riders and holds up better than plastic to grit and repeated loading.
